The Uljanik shipyard in Pula became temporarily at the end of September 2016 a never before seen 360 degree wake park in Croatia, but also in the world. Famous wake boarders Felix Georgii, Dominik Gührs and Dominik Hernler chose the bay in Pula for the filming of an adrenaline promotional video for the world famous Red Bull, during which seven ship transport containers were turned into unique obstacles for boarders, Pula.hr published on October 27, 2016.

“I am extremely glad the skyline of Pula and the cranes of Uljanik will tour the world again. This is a unique tourism promotion of Pula, but also Istria and Croatia, through attractive and modern content which is always welcome in our town,” pointed out Pula Mayor Boris Miletić.

The most interesting of all obstacles in this adrenaline park was certainly the “flying container,” which enabled the three boarders to test the park on water and in the air. With the aid of five industrial divers, containers were placed on the surface of the sea, held in place by 28 anchors, each weighing 800 kg. Besides the promotion, this sports project managed to combine in a unique way the industrial heritage of the town with a modern and attractive event shaping the new tourism offer on the Croatian coast.

After the Red Bull Air Race held in Rovinj, and the Adventure Race on Brijuni islands, Red Bull chose for the third time Istria for cooperation and promotion of adrenaline sports. Due to good cooperation, successful results and wide promotion of these events, they will surely continue in the future.
