Visualia Festival to Light Up Pula in September

We usually make sure to keep you informed on upcoming events and festivals so you wouldn't miss anything attractive that's happening in a few days or next weekend, but there's a festival so delightful, you need to take your calendars and save the date now even though it's two months away. From September 21 to 23, Pula will host Visualia, a spectacular festival celebrating light, positive emotions and new technologies.

The fifth edition of Visualia will entice visitors with the latest 2D and 3D mapping, creative light installations, and intriguing shows by world-famous performers. Various local and foreign artists will present their fantastic installations, but there are two British ensembles returning to Pula for the second time that are sure to inspire greater excitement than anything else on the programme.

Led Drummers, a creation of the Worldbeaters Music company, comes with a dynamic performance that uses a combination of powerful drums, energetic choreography and colourful lighting. The show is called Spark!, and they promise to take the audience on an interactive, enchanting journey that already won the visitors' hearts in 2014. After they visited Pula for the first time, the famous drummers were delighted by their experience and called the local population warm and welcoming. They thought the city was wonderful; full of historical heritage mixed with industrial spirit that reminded them of their hometown of Newcastle.

Lords of Lightning, another attractive performance to look forward to, are a British duo known for staging a battle of two titans, controlling more than 4 million volts of electric current. They shoot each other with bits of sparkling energy in a show that unites contemporary dance, martial arts, and the power of bright white light. The duo also visited Pula in 2014 and wished to return in the future, as Visualia impressed them by combining intimate ambiance with wondrous innovations.

More information to follow, but until then, take a look at this video showing a typical Lords of Lightning performance. This kind of – literally – energetic and powerful show just calls to be witnessed in person. See you in September!
