The goal is to encourage young women to enter the world of business.
To encourage young women to get into the business arena, a successful young businesswoman Martina Kuntić is giving away prom dresses to students from Zagreb, reports Večernji List on May 3, 2016.
Aware that no government invests enough in education, especially the kind of education that would create more jobs in the real economy and help develop local female entrepreneurship, young businesswoman Martina Kuntić (28) decided to give gifts to five girls who are finishing high school this year.
“After I finished college, I have been registered at the Croatian Employment Service and had been unsuccessfully looking for work. Then I decided to take matters into my own hands and opened my own business a year ago. I am stronger now and would like to stimulate the business success of the female entrepreneurship”, said Martina Kuntić.
Female entrepreneurship does not have a long tradition in the Croatian economy. Until 2010, the share of female owners of small and medium businesses was never above 10 percent. In 2010, the ratio was one woman per 2.6 men, and today it is one woman per 1.9 men.
Martina Kuntić is helping the trend. She opened her successful Dimora company in 2015 and now she has four temporary and/or permanent employees. She has quickly entered foreign markets as well, USA in particular, with her fashion brand Agjamal and the Beach Party line of swimsuits, casual clothes and evening dresses.
“Business comes with challenges and uncertainty, but for the decisive, self-conscious and ambitious women who are not afraid of challenges that the real market brings, it is also the best opportunity to achieve what they want. I would like for young, successful Zagreb prom girls to get familiar with the advantages of female entrepreneurship and to start thinking about their own businesses. With this gift giving, I would like to encourage them to give themselves much more – a financial independence and success by opening their own companies”, said Martina Kuntić commenting on her initiative.
