Dubrovnik Airport To Welcome Two Millionth Traveller!

By 25 September 2017

The two millionth traveller is expected on Friday!

It has been a fantastic summer season for Croatia, as constant stories about huge numbers of tourists and record breaking figures dominated the media, including here at TCN. Many cities surpassed their respective expectations and broke records. Dubrovnik, rather unsurprisingly, broke several itself.

As the long-standing tourism Mecca of Croatia, the Pearl of the Adriatic is no real stranger to high numbers, large amounts of people and the occasional broken record, but 2017 is truly a special year for not only the UNESCO city, but for the efficient and eternally busy little airport nestled in the rolling green hills of Konavle that serves it.

As Dubrovnik Press Portal reports on the 25th of September, 2017, this year, Dubrovnik Airport (Cilipi) will welcome its two millionth traveller, whose arrival is scheduled on a Croatia Airlines flight from Zurich, Switzerland.

Otherwise, the millionth traveller this year was Canadian citizen Cameron Neil Smith who arrived in Dubrovnik on a Turkish Airlines flight from Istanbul, he was welcomed in the height of summer, on July the 13th.
