While Croatia Airlines has managed to avoid a strike for now, Ireland's Ryanair hasn't been so lucky...
The wildly popular Irish air company has cancelled about 400 flights for as many as 50,000 passengers, many of which were heading to Croatia, more specifically to Istria.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 9th of August, 2018, the largest European low-cost airline Ryanair launches a one-day strike tomorrow, and the company has cancelled as many as 400 flights for around 50,000 passengers.
Among other locations, the unwelcome strike was announced in Pula Airport, the fact was then later confirmed by the director, Svemir Radmilo, to Glas Istre.
''Because of the [Ryanair] strike that will last for one day, planes coming from Frankfurt and Brussels, which were filled with passengers, will not arrive in Pula. They informed their passengers in good time about cancelling their flights to Pula, but whether or not they would accommodate them in hotels, provide other flights, or refund their money is something that depends on the airline,'' Radmilo said.
He stressed that due to the strike, around 500 passengers will not arrive in Istria as planned.
