Fortenova Asks EC for Concentration Approval in Case of Mercator

ZAGREB, August 20, 2019 - The Fortenova Group, that has taken over the sound segment of the ailing conglomerate Agrokor, has informed the European Commission about its intention to take over the Slovenian chain of shops, Mercator, the Slovenian news agency STA reported on Tuesday. Finance Ministry Issues 1.19 Billion Kuna in Treasury Bills

ZAGREB, August 20, 2019 - The Croatian Ministry of Finance on Tuesday auctioned off nearly 1.19 billion kuna in treasury bills, which was more than planned, still at low interest rates. The ministry had offered 1 billion kuna worth of treasury bills for subscription ahead of the maturity of treasury bills worth 1.15 billion kuna. It received offers for 1.18 billion kuna and accepted them all. Karlovac Factory to Overhaul Generator of Smolensk Nuclear Power Plant

ZAGREB, August 20, 2019 - The Karlovac-based Adriadiesel factory is going to overhaul an 84-tonne diesel generator from the Russian nuclear power plant in Smolensk, after it was transported from Russia to Croatia by an Antonov 124, a four-engine cargo jet, the HRT public broadcaster reported on Monday evening when the plane landed at Franjo Tuđman Airport. Zagreb's Average Wage 145 Euro Higher than Croatia's Average Pay

ZAGREB, August 20, 2019 - The average take-home pay in Zagreb this past May was 7,546 kuna whereas the average take-home pay in Croatia for that month amounted to 6,476 kuna, which means that the average monthly salary in the capital city was higher by 1,070 kuna (approximately 145 euros). The take-home salary in May in the capital city rose by 74 kuna on the month and by 217 kuna on the year. Health Sector Unions Insist on Wage Increase
