EIZ: Labour Demand in Nov. 2021 about 23% Higher than in Nov. 2019

ZAGREB, 3 Dec 2021 - The EIZ Online Vacancy Index has shown for the seventh consecutive month that labour demand has exceeded its pre-pandemic level, the Institute of Economics, Zagreb (EIZ) said on Friday.  The worsened epidemiological situation did not halt activities on the labour market as labour demand exceeded the 2020 and 2019 levels, it said. "The OVI index for November 2021 shows that labour demand is some 23 percent higher compared to the pre-pandemic November 2019. ZSE Main Indices in Red Under Pressure from European Stock Exchanges

ZAGREB, 2 Dec 2021 - The main Zagreb Stock Exchange indices decreased on Thursday, the Crobex by 0.28% to 1,985 points and the Crobex10 by 0.30% to 1,217 points, following the losses on European stock exchanges in the wake of the new COVID-19 variant. Regular turnover was HRK 6.27 million and another HRK 3.33 million was generated in block trading with Ilirija at HRK 170. Game of Thrones-Related Tourism Brings €180m to Croatia

ZAGREB, 2 Dec 2021 - Film tourism related to the mega-popular HBO series "Game of Thrones", the filming of which began in Dubrovnik and elsewhere in Dalmatia ten years ago, brought into the Croatian economy a total of €180.7 million between 2013 and 2018, or €30.1 million annually.  The figures were published in an article in the scientific journal Oeconomica Jadertina, issued by the University of Zadar. The article was written by Martin Vukašin and Josip Miočić from Zadar and Mirela Brechelmacher from Slavonski Brod. FlixBus and Čazmatrans Sign Strategic Partnership Agreement

ZAGREB, 2 Dec 2021 - The German-based bus company FlixBus and Croatia's Čazmatrans signed a strategic partnership agreement on Thursday. Under the agreement, in the first phase, Čazmatrans and FlixBus will integrate their bus services to provide travelers with greater mobility and availability of Croatian and international destinations. The agreement provides for the digitalization of bus tickets, which will facilitate the online purchase of tickets. Number of Croatian Industrial Workers Remains Unchanged

ZAGREB, 2 Dec 2021 - The number of Croatian industrial workers in October 2021 remained unchanged from the previous month and fell by 0.4% compared with October 2020, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics (DZS). Compared with September 2021, the largest decrease in the number of workers was recorded in the beverage manufacturing industry (-3.7%) and the largest increase in the manufacture of other transport equipment (+4.1%). ZAGREB, 29 Nov 2021 - The main Zagreb Stock Exchange indices decreased on Monday, the Crobex by 0.23% to 1,980 points and the Crobex10 by 0.16% to 1,213 points. Regular turnover was a little over HRK 7 million and only one stock crossed the million kuna mark, the HT telecom, turning over HRK 1.59 million. It closed at a stable HRK 184 per share. EC: Expectations for Croatian Economy Improve in November

ZAGREB, 29 Nov 2021 - Expectations for the Croatian economy improved in November on the back of optimism in the construction sector, which outweighed a marked decline in consumer confidence, according to a report by the European Commission released on Monday.  The Economic Sentiment Indicator (ESI) for Croatia grew by 1.9 points from October to 111.3 points in November.
