Committee Chair: Nothing Unexpectedly New About Drone Crash

ZAGREB, 13 April 2022 - The Zagreb County Prosecutor's Office said nothing unexpectedly new about last month's military drone crash, the only surprise being that the drone did not contain explosive but an unidentified substance, the chairman of the Croatian Parliament Defence Committee, Franko Vidović, said on Wednesday. Drone Crashed Due to Disrupted Automatic Landing Sequence, Prosecutor's Office Says

ZAGREB, 13 April 2022 - The drone which crashed in Zagreb on 10 March carried an aviation bomb and the cause of the crash was a disrupted automatic landing sequence due to an incomplete connection between the aircraft and the main parachute, the Zagreb County Prosecutor's Office said on Wednesday. A commission which investigated the crash said the drone ejected the parachute and continued to free fall. Finance Ministry to Issue Bonds on International Financial Market

ZAGREB, 13 April 2022 - As the maturity of the oldest Croatian euro bond in the amount of €1.25 billion is approaching, the Finance Ministry will for the first time this year issue a bond on the international financial market, with 2032 as the year of maturity. The Finance Ministry on Wednesday opened a subscription book for new Croatian euro bonds ahead of 30 May, the maturity date of the €1.25 billion euro bond, the oldest Croatian euro bond issued in 2014. Croatia Logs 1,142 New COVID-19 Cases, 5 Deaths

ZAGREB, 13 April 2022 - In the last 24 hours 1,142 coronavirus cases, out of 4,434 tests, and 5 related deaths have been registered in Croatia, the national COVID-19 crisis management team said on Wednesday. There are 5,999 active cases, including 541 hospitalised patients, 27 of whom are on ventilators, while 3,233 persons are self-isolating. Croatia has registered 1,110,989 coronavirus cases to date, while the death toll sits at 15,707. To date, 59.46% of the population, representing 70.72% of adults, have been vaccinated, including 68.63% of adults who are considered to be fully vaccinated. Green Action: Croatia Still Swamped by Plastic Bags Despite Ban

ZAGREB, 13 April 2022 2022 - The Croatian market is still swamped by single-use plastics despite the ban, the Green Action NGO said at a protest rally outside the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development on Wednesday, urging it to ensure compliance with the European Union's Single-Use Plastics Directive. 5G Coverage in Croatia at 60-70%

ZAGREB, 13 April 2022 - The coverage with and access to the 5G network in Croatia has grown since the summer of 2021, when licenses for the 5G frequency range were issued, to 60-70%, and a new auction is being prepared for the existing frequencies, to be held in early 2023, HAKOM regulator official Tonko Obuljen said on Wednesday. DZS: Number of Building Permits Issued in February up 21% Year-on-year

ZAGREB, 13 April 2022 - In February this year, 993 building permits were issued in Croatia, which is 21.1% more than in the same month last year, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics (DZS). Of those, 882 or 88.8% were issued for buildings and 111 or 11.2% for other structures. Compared with February 2021, the number of building permits issued for buildings increased by 30.7% and the number of those issued for other structures fell by 23.4%.
