Public Health Institute Publishes New Croatian Omicron Rules

December the 29th, 2021 - Croatian Omicron rules have been put in place and clarified as the new variant of the novel coronavirus sweeps Europe. Although it appears that the Omicron variant causes a far less severe clinical picture and there are only a few confirmed cases in Croatia, measures must still remain in place for now as the situation unfolds. As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, the Croatian Institute of Public Health has published new Croatian Omicron rules which regard quarantine and self-isolation. The revised rules of the CNIPH for the treatment of patients, those who have been in close contact…

Investigation Concludes Ryanair Did NOT Have Privileged Position at Zagreb Airport

December the 29th, 2021 - Ryanair's arrival at Zagreb Airport was absolutely fantastic for the vast majority of people who had become sick of relying on Croatia Airlines and their notoriously expensive ticket prices for the most basic of economy flights. With the arrival of this much loved Irish low cost airline, cities across Europe have been opened up for very little money for those of us living in the Croatian capital. It wasn't all roses and bells for some, however, and an investigation into whether Ryanair was given a ''privileged position'' at Zagreb Airport was launched. As Poslovni Dnevnik/Marija…

December the 29th, 2021 - Fuzine property might not be the first on your list when it comes to purchasing real estate or land in Croatia, with the glitz and glam of the Dalmatian coast being most people's first port of call. Could things be altering? As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, a mere two kilometres from gorgeous Lake Bajer in Fuzine, four building plots are currently up for sale. Take a virtual walk around Opatija in its holiday gear, from enchanting parks and iconic hotels to the famous seaside promenade lungomare Although Christmas has passed, cities all over Croatia continue to don their holiday gear for another week or so. While most Advent programmes typically last through the first week of the year, come January 1st, they somehow just don’t feel the same anymore. As Dalmatia Sleeps, HeadOnEast 2021 Kicks Off in Osijek Tomorrow

December 28, 2021 - The 2021 tourist season is not quite finished in some corners of this beautiful land. As the coast sleeps, HeadOnEast 2021 kicks off tomorrow in Osijek, Full of Life.  Full disclosure - I loved everything about this festival when it burst on the scene in October, 2019.  The name, a superb play on Hedonism and Heading on East to a region that a majority of Croats sadly have little knowledge of. The branding, done by a local Osijek design company. And the event itself.  HeadOnEast 2019 coincided with the first-ever Days of Croatian Self-Congratulation (formerly known…

Building Community: Dean Kuchel's 3rd Zagreb Visit in 2022 on Christmas Day

December 28, 2021 - Zagreb is a 365-day nomad city, as the Croatian capital's favourite Israeli nomad Dean Kuchel found out on his latest building community mission. The thing about digital nomads, I am learning, is that they seem to think the whole world exists on their schedules, and that we can all adapt. "Paul, I am coming back to Zagreb for the third time. I love that city. So let's meet." "Fantastic. It will be great to see you, but I also want to talk to you more about CROMADS and how we get some of your community of…

7 Ambassadors, 6 Months, 1 Great Digital Nomad Destination: Zagreb

December 30, 2021 - As Zagreb continues its journey to become a great digital nomad destination, a collection of thoughts from its 7 digital nomad ambassadors. They say that all good things come to an end, but I have a feeling that things are only just beginning as we close the Zagreb Digital Nomad Week & Ambassador program, which has been an unqualified success.  Just a few months ago, Zagreb was not really on the nomad radar at all, but that has changed considerably, with the Croatian capital even making the top 5 most-liked cities in the world in the…
