PM Says Laws to be Amended to Punish Non-Compliance with COVID Certificate Mandate

ZAGREB, 17 Nov 2021 - Prime Minister Andrej Plenković on Thursday announced legislative changes and sanctions for persons defying the COVID-19 certificate mandate and inciting protests, describing as unusual protests against mandatory testing. Addressing a government session, Pleković said that he had instructed Justice and Public Administration Minister Ivan Malenica, Health Minister Vili Beroš and Minister of the Interior Davor Božinović to see which of the relevant laws should be amended to introduce fines for those defying rules introduced by the COVID-19 response team. 40 Environmentally Friendly Anchorages Set Up in Kornati National Park

November 17, 2021 - With the long-term objective of protecting the sea surface and preserving Posidonia, the Sunce Association through the SASPAS project has installed 40 environmentally friendly anchorages in four bays of the Kornati National Park using a technique that will not negatively impact the environment. Government to Extend Deadline for Submission of Applications for Croatian Citizenship

ZAGREB, 17 Nov 2021 - The Croatian government on Thursday adopted changes to the Croatian Citizenship Act, put forward due to a large number of citizenship applications based on a law that went into force on 1 January 2020 and problems in their submission, caused by the coronavirus pandemic.  The deadline for the submission of applications for Croatian citizenship under the current law expires on 1 January 2022 but since the pandemic has made it difficult for many to apply, the deadline will be extended by one more year. Minister: 390 People Died of COVID-19 Over Past Week, 70% Were Not Vaccinated

ZAGREB, 17 Nov 2021 - Over the past week 390 people have died of COVID-19 in Croatia and 273 of them (70%) were not vaccinated while ten were under the age of 50 and were not vaccinated, Health Minister Vili Beroš said at a government session on Thursday.  The largest number of COVID-19 patients are hospitalised in the hospitals in Split, Rijeka and Zagreb's Dubrava hospital, while the latter hospital and the hospitals in Split and Osijek have the largest number of patients on ventilators, he said. Croatia Logs 6670 New COVID Cases, More than 10,000 Deaths Since Outbreak

ZAGREB, 17 Nov 2021 - Croatia has logged 6,670 new COVID cases in the past 24 hours and 64 new deaths bringing the total death toll since the outbreak of the pandemic to more than 10,000.
