World Literature Festival to Be Held on 5–11 September

ZAGREB, 29 Aug, 2021 - The 9th World Literature Festival, to be held in Zagreb on 5-11 September, will host more than 50 international and domestic literary stars from as many as 16 countries from three continents, the Fraktura publishing house, the event's organiser, has said. The festival will feature more than 30 literary events, two theatre plays as well as exhibitions of works by Croatian painters whose works are inspired by novels, story books or poems. 25FPS Festival to Take Place in Zagreb on 23-26 September

ZAGREB, 29 Aug, 2021 - The 17th edition of the International Experimental Film and Video Festival 25FPS will take place in Zagreb on 23-26 September. The 2021 Competition Programme features 27 innovative films from different parts of the world, including three from Croatia. New Pig Breeding Centre in Glina Arouses Hope of Agricultural Recovery

ZAGREB, 29 Aug, 2021 - A newly-built pig breeding centre, the first commercial facility to be built in Sisak-Moslavina County after the 29 December 2020 earthquake, restoring hope of agricultural recovery, was officially opened at Novo Selo Glinsko on Sunday. The centre was built with the help of donations, and similar centres will be built with the help of EU and national funds to help revitalise agricultural production in the Banovina region. Croatia Reports 377 COVID-19 Cases, One Death

ZAGREB, 29 Aug, 2021 - In the past 24 hours, 377 new coronavirus cases and one COVID-19-related death have been registered in Croatia, the national COVID-19 crisis management team said on Sunday. There are currently 3,331 active cases, including 391 hospitalised patients, of whom 51 are on ventilators. Currently 7,404 people are self-isolating. A total of 2,530,602 people have been tested, including 9,570 in the last 24 hours. Since 25 February 2020, when the first case of the disease was reported in Croatia, 373,191 people have been infected, of whom 8,325 have died. French President to Visit Croatia

ZAGREB, 29 Aug, 2021 - French President Emmanuel Macron, one of the most important European politicians, will pay a working visit to Croatia, the Jutarnji List daily reports in its Sunday issue. Croatia's best female athlete reached her 44th victory at the Diamond League in her career with a throw of 65.68 meters in the decisive sixth series. Croatia Takes in 19 Afghan Nationals

ZAGREB, 29 Aug, 2021 - Nineteen Afghan nationals, who worked as support staff for the European Union Delegation in Kabul, arrived at Zagreb Airport on Saturday, the Croatian Ministry of the Interior has reported. The 19-member group consists of three families with children and a single. They have all said that they intend to apply for international protection in Croatia, the ministry said.
