Istrian Prosciutto House: Tinjan Municipality Builds Tourism Image

When you think of prosciutto, you probably think of Italy, but if you've ever spent any time in Croatia, then it's likely you automatically link that word with Dalmatia - places like Drnis in particular. But what about Istria? The region is well known for its excellent cuisine, and Tinjan, an Istrian municipality, is now building its image on exactly what it does best - prosciutto. Grt acquainted with the up and coming Istrian Prosciutto House. Developing the Chinese Tourism Market Through TV: Explore Croatia on Hvar

February 10, 2020 - More great promotion to the growing Chinese market, as Metan Development Group's Explore Croatia films on Hvar. One of my favourite Croatian tourism promotion stories took place a few years ago at a tourism fair in Seoul. Either the national or Zagreb tourist board had a stand there to put their toes in the water of a potential new market for Croatia. Expectations were apparently, but it was another step in the Croatian tourism expansion into Asian markets. The Croatian stans was one of the most popular of the whole show, according to the reports I…

Why Trogir is the Perfect Start and Finish to a Dalmatian Island Holiday

February 9, 2020 - Instead of racing for that last ferry on arrival or worrying about missing the connection for the flight home, there is a simple Dalmatian solution to a relaxed start and finish of an Adriatic island holiday. It is called Trogir.  After many years of living in Dalmatia, and having experienced countless frustrations (both my own and countless others with a Western mindset), I reduced my decade of life learning here to a single sentence of advice. It was advice that would serve any visitor well if they adopted it immediately on arrival, or they could go…

A brand new tourist attraction is set to enrich the already impressive tourist offer of the bustling Croatian capital city of Zagreb - in the form of no less than tanks. Their plans for the attraction in the Croatian capital city are moving in the right direction, and at this week's Bug…

The Rimac Automobili Effect: Porsche Discovers Zagreb

February 6, 2020 - The Croatian car industry may be minuscule, but it is top quality. Rimac Automobili investors Porsche discover the capital city of Zagreb.  Can a few good men and women transform a country? Possibly not, but imagine if each of Croatia's sectors had a Rimac equivalent.  Croatia didn't have a car industry at all until a young Mate Rimac started playing around with a car in his garage. Ten years later, Rimac Automobili has been hailed as one of the most exciting companies in the global automotive industry, its electric hypercars the fastest in the world.  A…
