Vinkovci: 10 Things to Know about Europe's Oldest Town

October 11, 2019 - Did you know that the oldest continuously inhabited town in Europe is in eastern Croatia? Nor did I until recently, and Vinkovci really is a fascinating little place. 10 things to know.   I will confess that I had lived in Croatia for a full 13 years before I had even heard of Vinkovci. And if it wasn't for the energy of Goran Rihelj of the HR Turizam portal, a Vinkovci resident and passionate promoter of eastern Croatia, I might still be none the wiser. Kindness of Strangers and Safety: Croatia's Under-Promoted Tourism Jewels

October 11, 2019 - The land of sun and sea, but also the land of kindness of strangers and safety - Croatia's under-promoted tourism jewels.  One of the things I like about working in the media in Croatia is TCN's position of being local and being foreign - local knowledge with a foreign eye. One simple example of this was soon after we started Total Split.  As a…

Dubrovnik Tops Cruise Ship Numbers Compared to All Croatian Ports Combined

Dubrovnik is still swamped with cruise ships, and it seems that Croatia's southernmost city is still doing better, or perhaps better to say much worse, than all Croatian ports across the country combined when it comes to the arrival of these harmful floating cities. As Morski writes on the 10th of October, 2019, the cruise season is not over yet, and in the Port of Dubrovnik, when looking at the number of cruise ships and the number of passengers brought in by them, remains the ''top'' cruise port in the entire Croatian Adriatic.
