Treasures of Dalmatia: Komiza on Vis

There are many hidden treasures on Croatia's Adriatic coast, and few are more special than Komiza on the island of Vis.

Hidden from the world on a closed military island for many years, Komiza is the second largest town on Vis, a stunning and fascinating island with a rich British military history. Here the game of cricket was introduced to mainland Europe in 1809, and the British cemeteries pay tribute to the contribution and importance of Vis as a military launching point for the invasion of Yugoslavia by the Allies in 1942.

These days, Komiza and Vis are a paradise of traditional Dalmatia - sailing, fish, stone and the laganini lifestyle.
