Success for Croatia at AIDA International Free Diving Competitions

On February 24, 2018, AIDA International Diving Competitions were held in Belgrade and the Croatian team were strong contenders, leaving them in a good position building up to the World Championships.

The AIDA International Free Diving Competition was held in Belgrade over the weekend and attracted 40 contestants from 5 countries who competed in the disciplines of dynamics (without fins) and static. The Croatian competitors responded in large numbers and Vitomir Maričić received the best dynmaic (DNF) with a distance of 201 metres and time of 4:38 which is the best result this season in this discipline. Veljano Zanki managed a new national record in static with a time of 9:42. RK Split was the team in first place overall.

With these promising results in the early stages of the season, the Croatian free diving team is hoping for good results at the upcoming world championships in pool disciplines in Italy and Belgrade.
