Bosnian Croat Leader Rejects Election Law Changes

ZAGREB, June 30, 2018 - The President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Marinko Čavara (HDZ BiH) said in an interview with the Radiosarajevo news portal that he would not sign a law on constituencies in the Federation entity that was adopted by Bosniak parties last week contrary to the will of Croats, and insisted that the law was contrary to a Constitutional Court ruling ordering that the way members of the House of Peoples of the Federation entity are elected should be changed.

Bosnia to Send Its Arguments Against Pelješac Bridge to Brussels

ZAGREB, June 30, 2018 - The Pelješac bridge is a project the European Union is co-financing based on information submitted by Croatia, and if Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) has some counterarguments, it can submit them to the European Commission, which will consider them, European Transport Commissioner Violeta Bulc said in Sarajevo on Friday.

Despite EU Opposition, Bosnia to Establish Migrant Camp near Croatian Border

ZAGREB, June 27, 2018 - The European Commission has rejected to finance setting up an accommodation centre for illegal migrants near Velika Kladuša in northwest Bosnia and Herzegovina because it considers that it is too close to the Croatian border which is at the same time the EU border and fears that this could be an incentive for migrants to continue on toward Western EU member states, Bosnia Security Minister Dragan Mektić said on Wednesday.

Bosnian Court to Decide Again on Extradition of Croatian Football Boss Mamić

ZAGREB, June 23, 2018 - The State Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina will decide again on Croatia's request for the extradition of Zdravko Mamić, an adviser of the Zagreb-based Dinamo football club wanted in Croatia for tax evasion, because the State Prosecutor's Office's appeal against a decision whereby the request was turned down has been granted, Sarajevo's Dnevni Avaz daily said on Saturday.

Thousands of Migrants in Bosnia, Waiting to Enter Croatia

ZAGREB, June 20, 2018 - Bosnia's police agency estimates that currently there are about 2,500 illegal migrants in the country who intend to continue on their way to some Western European country, Bosnia and Herzegovina's Security Minister Dragan Mektić said during a debate on the refugee crisis in the country's parliament.

Migrants Abandon Attempt to Force Their Way into Croatia

ZAGREB, June 19, 2018 - Despite a daylong effort to enter Croatia through the Maljevac border crossing from Velika Kladuša in Bosnia and Herzegovina on foot without valid documents, some 200 migrants remained on the Bosnian side of the border where they staged a peaceful protest. The border was closed until 2010 hrs on Monday when migrants started heading back to Velika Kladuša.

Croats in Bosnia Accuse High Representative Inzko of Harming Their Interests

ZAGREB, June 11, 2018 - Božo Ljubić, a senior official of the Croatian National Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HNS BiH), the umbrella organisation of Croat political parties in that country, on Sunday criticised the international community's High Representative Valentin Inzko, saying that he was advocating violation of the country's constitution and proposing changes to the election law that favoured Bosniak parties and were to the detriment of Croats.
