"Bosnian Croat and Serb Leaders Undermining Fight against Corruption"

ZAGREB, May 31, 2018 - The Office of the High Representatives in Bosnia and Herzegovina (OHR) and embassies of influential Western countries on Wednesday sent an open letter to the Croatian Democratic Union of BH (HDZ BiH) and the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) accusing them on intentionally obstructing the adoption of amendments to the election legislation and the leaders of the two parties, Dragan Ćović and Milorad Dodik, of behaviour that undermines the fight against crime and corruption.

This Year, 5,000 Illegal Migrants Officially Recorded in Bosnia

ZAGREB, May 30, 2018 - Since the beginning of 2018, slightly fewer than 5,000 illegal migrants have arrived in Bosnia and Herzegovina and most of them have told police that they plan to apply for asylum, however, only about 10% have submitted applications, which shows that their real intention is to continue their journey to EU countries, Bosnia and Herzegovina Security Minister Dragan Mektić said while presenting police data to the government on Tuesday.

Bosnia Protests Croatia’s State Property Management Plans

ZAGREB, May 26, 2018 - Commenting on the adoption of a law on state property management by the Croatian parliament on Friday, which will enable also the management of real estate in Croatia that is owned by other former Yugoslav republics, Bosnia and Herzegovina Justice Minister Josip Grubeša said on Saturday that Croatia could not make unilateral decisions on Bosnia and Herzegovina's property on its territory, and that that property was protected by the agreement on succession to the former Yugoslav federation.

Consultations on Bosnian Election Law Bring No Results

ZAGREB, May 24, 2018 - Legal experts of the Council of Europe's Venice Commission on Thursday wrapped up consultations with representatives of political parties in Bosnia and Herzegovina about possible amendments to the election law without any concrete results but with a tentative agreement to continue talks at the start of June, at the level of party presidents.

Turkish President Erdogan Promises Support to Bosnia

ZAGREB, May 20, 2018 - Turkey has no hidden intentions towards Bosnia and Herzegovina and it is trying to contribute to Bosnia's stability, Turkish President Recept Tayyip Erdogan said in Sarajevo on Sunday, adding however that he expected full cooperation for a showdown with the "FETO octopus," which is how he calls his political opponents whom he holds responsible for last year's failed coup d'etat.

Migrants Cause Tensions in Croatia’s Neighbourhood

ZAGREB, May 19, 2018 - Migrants who had waited several hours at the administrative boundary between Sarajevo and Herzegovina-Neretva cantons in Bosnia and Herzegovina finally arrived at a refugee camp in the southern city of Mostar on Friday afternoon, after fierce arguments between central and local government officials earlier in the day about who authorised the transfer of the refugees from a makeshift tent settlement in Sarajevo to the Salakovac camp in Mostar.

Croatia Ratifies European Partnership Treaty with Bosnia

ZAGREB, May 18, 2018 - The Croatian parliament on Friday ratified the European partnership treaty between the Croatian government and Bosnia and Herzegovina's Council of Ministers, under which the two parties reaffirmed their determination to promote the European partnership and strengthen cooperation in the process of Bosnia and Herzegovina's accession to the European Union.

Croatia to Prevent Migrants Entering from Bosnia and Herzegovina
