Croatian Students Win Medals at Geography Olympics

ZAGREB, August 7, 2018 - Croatian high school students Nikola Bišćan from Donji Miholjac and Luka Banović from Rijeka have won silver medals at the 2018 International Geography Olympics in Quebec City, Canada, while Mihovil Penavić from Slavonski Brod has won a bronze, the Croatian Geography Society said on Tuesday.

MPs Support Harsher Penalties for Sex Crimes against Children

ZAGREB, July 12, 2018 - Representatives of both the opposition and the ruling majority in the Croatian parliament on Thursday supported amendments to the Penal Code and the Law on Legal Consequences of Conviction, Rehabilitation and Criminal Records, whereby the HDZ party group proposed harsher punishment for child sex offenders who, under the amendments, would be registered as paedophiles for good.

ZAGREB, June 23, 2018 - A video conference connecting the primary school "Blago Zadro" in Vukovar, a primary school in Široki Brijeg, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Croatian School ("Hrvatska Škola") in Dublin was held on Saturday within the programme called "Roots", designed by the Zagreb-based Central State Office for Croats Abroad to strengthen the bonds between Croatia and its diaspora communities.
