April 21, 2022 - The latest flight news to Croatia as more Ryanair Zagreb summer flights have been canceled, this time in June, after the airline already reduced and canceled many flights in May.

Just a few days after several Ryanair flights from Zagreb were canceled in May this year, this airline has made additional changes in its flight schedule for this summer season and canceled a number of flights on international routes to and from Zagreb in June, too, reports Croatian Aviation.

The Irish low-cost airline has reduced the number of operations for June this year on the following routes:

Brussels Charleroi - two flights a week instead of five, 

Paphos - one flight a week instead of three,

Dusseldorf Weeze - two flights a week instead of three, 

Frankfurt Hahn - two flights a week instead of three, 

Karlsruhe - two flights a week instead of three, 

Memmingen - two flights a week instead of three, 

Corfu - all flights canceled,

Brindisi - all flights canceled,

Milan Bergamo - four flights a week instead of five, 

Malta - two flights a week instead of three, 

Oslo Torp - one flight a week instead of two, 

Malaga - one flight a week instead of two, 

Gothenburg - two flights a week instead of three, 

Malmo - two flights a week instead of three, 

Basel - all flights canceled.

In June alone, more than 190 flights were canceled on 15 of these routes, which is 35,000 fewer seats to and from Zagreb compared to the airline's original plan.

April 20, 2022 - As Croatia continues to develop its digital nomad story, the return of Zagreb Digital Nomad Week is announced. 

It has been quite a journey. 

Two years ago, few people in Croatia had heard about digital nomads, and perhaps even less nomads considered Croatia as a nomad destination. 

Croatia's early adoption of a digital nomad visa/permit and the associated global media interest at the height of the pandemic changed all that, and suddenly Croatia became one of the most talked-about nomad destinations in Europe. 

One year ago, few people would have used Zagreb and digital nomads in the same sentence, as most of the destination interest was on the coast. 

And yet, six months ago, in October 2021, Zagreb was named as the 5th most-liked city in the world in the influential and comprehensive NomadList 2021 survey of its members. Not only fifth in the world, but also the first in Europe!

A key component of last year's Zagreb nomad calendar was the award-winning Zagreb Digital Nomad Week and Ambassador program, which put the Croatian capital firmly on the global nomad map. At a time when travel was restricted due to the pandemic, Zagreb Digital Nomad Week was one of the first live conferences to be held, with many speakers and participants visibly joyful at the opportunity to meet in person. Seven themes over seven days in seven locations all over the city, the true potential of Zagreb as a nomad destination was revealed. And the visitors were impressed. As keynote speaker Dean Kuchel from Israel noted in his video interview below, the only thing missing in Zagreb for digital nomads was more digital nomads. 

And those nomads are coming...

The 2022 edition will take place from June 13-19, continuing the partnership between Zagreb Tourist Board, Saltwater Nomads, the Digital Nomad Association Croatia, and Total Croatia News, building on the considerable success of 2021. April 20, 2022 - Hajduk and Dinamo met in the biggest Croatian derby at Poljud Stadium tonight in Split, the makeup 9th round match which was meant to be played at the end of last year. Hajduk's 1:0 victory tonight keeps them in the fight for the Croatian championship title! 

Hajduk and Dinamo met tonight for the third time this season, making up the 9th-round match scheduled for the end of last year. In the 18th round, Hajduk won 2:0 at Maksimir, and in the 27th round at the end of March in Split, it ended 0:0. These two rivals will meet again in the last 36th round at Maksimir on May 21. 

The stakes in today's game were exceptionally high for Hajduk, who needed a victory to stay in the race for the Croatian championship title. Defeat would leave Hajduk 10 points behind Dinamo, which was at the top going into the match with 66 points. Hajduk was in third place with 59 points, while Osijek has 64 points.

Hajduk sold 29,000 tickets by Tuesday, and more than 2,500 Hajduk fans gathered at the Poljud training ground on Monday to announce their support for the Split club.

Dinamo was the first to attack with a corner in the 2nd minute, which Kalinic saved. Emreli went down in the penalty area from the play, which brought the game to a halt for nearly 5 minutes. 

Tensions were high in the first 10 minutes, with loud shouts to the ref from Hajduk fans. A dangerous free-kick was awarded to Hajduk in the 10th minute, which Krovinovic took just outside the box. However, Dinamo's defense was solid to clear it. 

Nikola Kalinic pressured Livakovic in the 13th minute, which forced him to clear the ball. Hajduk got their first corner a minute later. After back and forth in front of Dinamo's goal, it eventually ended in Livakovic's hands. 

Hajduk fans were constantly whistling against the ref, who seemed to be calling more for Dinamo in the first 20 minutes. Dinamo pressured Hajduk's defense in the 21st minute and was awarded their second corner of the match. Hajduk's defense cleared it.

Melnjak and Lauritsen had a nasty collision during the corner, which ended in bandaged heads for them. The match finally resumed after another 5-minute injury break. 

After another collision between Livaja and Petkovic, Melnajk decided he could no longer continue, and Colina was brought on as Hajduk's first substitution in the 31st minute. 

Foul after foul, the match slowly went on.  

Hajduk picked up the intensity in the 36th minute and almost had a chance on Dinamo's empty goal, but Livakovic made it back in time for the save. 

Dambrauskas' assistant Skinderis was sent off with a red car for mouthing to the ref in the 40th minute. To say that tensions were high at this point would be an understatement. 

With so many fouls, there was hardly any rhythm in the game for either team. As a result, ten minutes of stoppage time was added to the first half. 

Hajduk was awarded a corner in the 4th minute of stoppage time, but Krovinovic ultimately shot wide of the far post. Dinamo attacked in the next play, which was cleared out for a throw-in by Hajduk's defense. 

Livaja nearly had a one-on-one with Livakovic, but Dinamo's defense double-teamed him to stop the attack.

The first half ended 0:0 with 50/50 possession and Hajduk's 2 shots on target to Dinamo's 0.

The second half started without any changes. Vukovic had two shots within a minute which were both cleared by the Dinamo defense. Mlakar shot at Livakovic minute later. 

Dinamo attacked in the next play but Emreli shanked over the goal. Dinamo subbed on Ivanusec for Gojak in the 54th minute. 

Hajduk had another brilliant chance in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Livaja sent the ball into the near post but it was saved by the Dinamo defense. 

Petkovic and Orsic were essentially neutralized by the Hajduk defense in the match so far. 

Orsic tried shooting from 30 meters but hit high over the post in the 61st minute.

Hajduk was hungrier this half which ultimately ended in a goal. Nikola Kalinic hit a far-post rocket into the back of Dinamo's net for 1:0 in the 63rd minute! 

Dinamo made another sub in the 66th minute - Spikic was subbed on for Ristovski. 

Dinamo picked up the pace in the 5 minutes that followed. Kalinic's fingertips saved the day from Dinamo equalizing in the 69th minute, sending it out for a corner. 

Dinamo subbed again in the 74th - Tolic came on for Misic, and Hajduk subbed off Vukovic for Sahiti. 

Livaja shot wide of the far post in the 77th minute, as did Tolic for Dinamo one minute later. 

In the 84th minute, Hajduk subbed off Colina for Simic and Nikola Kalinic for Lovrencsics. Dambrauskas was making a defensive decision with 5 minutes left. 

Livaja was shown a yellow card in the 88th-minute meaning he'll miss the next match against Belupo.  

Six minutes of stoppage time was added to the end of the match. Dinamo had a dangerous chance in the next minute with Kalinic's save going out for a corner. 

Livaja was one-on-one again with Dinamo's last defender and sent the ball to Mlakar who shot over the goal. Neither team was able to score in the time that remained...

The match ended 1:0 for Hajduk!

April 18, 2022 - Easter weekend marked the peak of preparations for the World Rally Championship - WRC Croatia Rally 2022, the largest sporting spectacle and one of the most-watched sporting events in the world, which will take place from April 21-24, 2022

About 250 trucks will equip the competitors and the Service Park. In addition, more than 300 people will stretch and install over 6 km of cables, 7 km of fences, and over 800 m of water installations. The expected total electricity consumption will be about 1.2 MWh, which is needed to turn the Zagreb Fair into a Fan Zone of the WRC Croatia Rally 2022 Service Park, the center of the motorsport world next week.

The organizers are aware of their significant impact not only on economic activity and consumption but also on the environment, so this year with the help of scientists from the Faculty of Transport Sciences and the Hrvoje Požar Energy Institute, they will find ways to maximize their efficiency and reduce environmental impact.

As the organizers of this year's WRC Croatia Rally announced, visitors can expect rich content along the track and in the Fan Zones. The largest Fan Zone Service Park (Zagreb Fair) will be the first to start operating on Tuesday, April 19, and will be open for six days until April 24, when the final party is expected in the evening. There, visitors will be able to see a real small town built by the teams of the best rally drivers of today, cars and service areas of top competitors, and observe their final preparations and maintenance of cars during the competition. As part of the accompanying program, motorsports fans will be able to buy Croatia Rally souvenirs and swag from the top teams and the WRC, enjoy the food offered, DJs, and famous music performers, and try their skills on game consoles and simulators. In addition, drivers participating in the Croatia Rally 2022 will sign autographs on Tuesday, April 19, and Wednesday, April 20, and hold Meet the Crews on Thursday, April 21, Friday, April 22, and Saturday, April 23, during which they will give statements on the big stage for the audience. Access to speed tests from both directions, start and finish, will not be possible even on foot in the last 30 minutes before the start of the speed test.

WRC Croatia Rally will be held from April 21-24 at 20 attractive special stages through five Croatian counties - Zagreb, Karlovac, Krapina-Zagorje, Primorje-Gorski Kotar, and Varaždin. Infobip Alpha Centauri is one of the most modern office buildings in this part of Europe. The campus covers an area of ​​about 20,000 square meters. Currently, about 8 thousand m2 are used, while some land is left to construct the same or similar facility in the future. The campus was built by 35 companies, and over 1,700 individual tasks had to be completed. More than 1,200 drafts were made, and 5,000 photographs were taken. April 14, 2022 - German duo and global pop phenomenon Milky Chance have announced a concert in the Croatian capital as part of their 'Tour Again' European touring schedule. 

Indie-pop sensation Milky Chance is again preparing to delight the audience at Tvornica Kulture (Culture Factory) on December 4 with a concert as part of the European 'Tour Again'.

Milky Chance, a German duo including singer and guitarist Clemens Rehbein and DJ and producer Philipp Dausch became a global pop phenomenon back in 2013, recognizable by infectious melodies and sound that mixes influences from electronic music to reggae and R&B.

Milky Chance has been in perpetual motion since the release of their debut single, “Stolen Dance,” which turned them into music stars in just a few months. Recorded at Rehbein's home in Kassel, Germany, the song became an international hit after the band released it online in 2013, topping the charts in more than a dozen countries before crossing the Atlantic to No. 1 on Billboard's alternative charts.

In the years that followed, Milky Chance released three acclaimed studio albums, collected more than five billion streams, sold-out concerts around the world, performed at festivals such as Coachella and Lollapalooza, and were guests on Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon.

April 14, 2022 - The latest flight news to Croatia as several Ryanair Zagreb flights have been canceled in May and June, with passengers informed in the last 24 hours. 

In the last 24 hours, Irish low-cost airline Ryanair has informed passengers about the cancellation of a number of flights on regular flights to and from Zagreb International Airport, reports Croatian Aviation. 

Namely, Ryanair has canceled several flights on international routes to and from Zagreb Airport for May and June this year.

From Zagreb to:

Brussels Charleroi - two flights a week instead of five in May,

Sofia - all flights canceled in June,

Paphos - two flights a week instead of three in May,

Dusseldorf Weeze - two flights a week instead of three in May,

Frankfurt Hahn - two flights a week instead of three in May,

Karlsruhe - two flights a week instead of three in May,

On most routes, certain weekly rotations were canceled, and the airline cited commercial terms in the passenger notice. Namely, Ryanair has been selling very cheap tickets on these routes for months, from 5 to 10 euros one way, and now it is canceling those flights and offering passengers the possibility of vouchers or changing travel dates.

Croatian Aviation adds that the same thing happened earlier with the route to Milan. The airline then returned the flights to sale a few days later, but at much higher prices, so it should not be surprising if this is what happens on most of the above routes. Due to the early announcement, passengers are not entitled to compensation in accordance with EU regulations 261, and the airline leaves room for additional earnings by reselling the now canceled flights.

11 April 2022 - The average take-home monthly salary paid in Zagreb in January amounted to HRK 8,528 (€1,130), which is HRK 1,150 kuna (€152) higher than the national average for January of HRK 7,378 (€978).

According to the data provided by the city's strategic planning department, average monthly pay was 5.5% higher than in January 2021.

Broken down by business activities, the highest average monthly salary was paid to employees in the crude oil and natural gas  production sector (HRK 13,681) and the lowest in the leather manufacturing sector HRK 4,877.

April 11, 2022 - The latest flight news to Croatia as 26 Ryanair Zagreb flights in May bring more than 120,000 seats to and from the Croatian capital. 

Irish low-cost airline Ryanair has defined its flight schedule for May, in which it will offer more than 120,000 available seats to and from Zagreb International Airport, reports Croatian Aviation. 

Namely, Ryanair is celebrating its first anniversary since opening the base in Zagreb, and in May it will operate 26 regular international routes and offer more than 120,000 available seats to and from the Croatian capital.

A320 aircraft based at Zagreb Airport with a capacity of 180 seats have been announced on all routes. The only exceptions are the line to Bratislava, where B737-800 aircraft have been announced, and the route to Malta and Begam, where B737 MAX aircraft will also operate.

The largest number of seats is available to London, which is solely due to daily flights between Zagreb and this city, while the smallest number of seats is available to Malaga and Oslo, given that these routes operate twice a week.

Still unofficially, Ryanair and Zagreb Airport are working intensively on basing the fourth aircraft of this carrier in the Croatian capital, which would increase the number of routes but also increase the number of rotations on existing ones. It is likely that this will happen as early as this summer season.

Zagreb International Airport welcomed 196,280 passengers through Croatia's main airport last month, or 152,549 more than in the same month last year. The result from March 2021 (as well as from 2020) is not comparable with the figures from the previous month, primarily because of the pandemic.

Nevertheless, with this good result, Zagreb is approaching the figures from the pre-crisis year of 2019, when 232,978 passengers were recorded in March.

ZAGREB, 10 April 2022 - The Croatian Rail (HŽ) company will introduce an express train between Osijek and Zagreb via Bjelovar as of this December, and will soon introduce low-floor trains on the Zagreb-Bjelovar-Virovitica route.

This is the outcome of a recent meeting between Bjelovar-Bilogora County Prefect Marko Marušić and HŽ Putnički Prijevoz (HŽPP) executives.

In 2021, 120,398 passengers boarded trains at railway stations in this county, a 5% rise from 2020, it was said during the meeting, held in Bjelovar, at which Marušić also requested more favourable train ticket prices for locals.
