One more new festival announced for Croatia's spectacular Adriatic coast for summer 2016.
The rise of Croatia as one of Europe's hottest festival destinations has been meteoric in recent years, and one which looks set to continue, with Amsterdam festival Dekmantel the latest to announce a new festival of the hip Adriatic coast, it was announced on December 16, 2015.
The popular Dutch festival will be hosting an end of season party, Selectors 2016, in Tisno from Septmber 1 - 5, reports The Quietus, with tickets starting at £100:
"Set to take place at the Garden Resort in Tisno and to host 1500 people next September, the likes of Motor City Drum Ensemble, Helena Hauff, I-F, Hunee, Joy Orbison, Awesome Tapes From Africa, The Black Madonna, Young Marco and Lena Willikens have all been booked to play among others. “We immediately fell in love with the intimate, beautiful site and think it’s the perfect place to translate our favourite stage from Dekmantel Festival and really take the time to deepen the idea behind it,” says Dekmantel co-founder Thomas Martojo."
Named by The Guardian as Europe's best festival in 2013, Croatia has slowly been adding to its festival offer, as a new generation of tourists heads for the hip Adriatic coast, with festivals such as The Garden Festival, Hideout, Outlook, Dimensions and Ultra Europe, which cater to a wide range of musical tastes, as well as introducing younger tourists to the stunning beauty of Croatia.
The announcement of Selectors follows that of another new festival in Tisno, as previously reported on TCN - the Love Festival from June 29 to July 6, which is being organised by the pioneers of the Garden Festival.
