May 8, 2018 - Fancy a glimpse into medieval Istria?
The ancient Istrian town of Dvigrad will travel back in time this coming weekend, making a two-day trip to the Middle Ages. Following the successful premiere last year, the manifestation Dvigrad Medieval Fair will again make the most of the authentic historic ambiance. On May 12 and 13, the abandones medieval defensive walls of the old Dvigrad will transform into a theatre stage of sorts, providing the visitors with an opportunity to immerse themselves in the history of this picturesque town.
To make the overall event even more convincing, several organisations specialising in historical reenactment will join forces to fill up the streets and squares of Dvigrad with intricate historical costumes, weaponry and other various gear. They'll also stage a proper jousting tournament, featuring an international crew: members of the Ordo Sancti Viti from Rijeka, Chivalric Order St. Nikola from Varaždin, Nova Compania Vis Ferri from Trieste, Viridi Hedera from the Slovenian town of Ribnica, Siklósi Sárkányos Lovagrend from Siklos, Hungary, and the Corvi Belli Association from Sv. Ivan Zelina.

Visitors will be able to watch medieval knights in direct combat, browse the offer at a fair of medieval crafts, or attend some of the themed workshops prepared for the younger guests. Naturally, the entire weekend will be spiced up with authentic medieval music, food and drinks.
