Austrian Furniture Chain to Open Branch in Zagreb

A touch of Austria is set to grace the Croatian capital, and bring employment opportunities with it.

In addition to Austria, this furniture brand is present in Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, and Germany, as well as in neighbouring Slovenia.

As Ana Maria Filipovic Grcic/Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 17th of May, 2018, the very first Mömax branch office is set to open in Zagreb on June the 13th this year, and after that, the rest of the country will see its arrival too, as was announced by the home and furnishings store in the Austrian city of Graz on Tuesday. The more than good news the Austrian company brings with it is that it promises employment opportunities, there will be as many as forty people employed at the upcoming Mömax location in Zagreb, while at the European level, this popular chain boasts approximately three thousand employees.

As previously mentioned, this Austrian brand is present in several countries, and is proudly part of the portfolio of one of the largest and most globally traded furniture retailers, known most widely for its modern furniture at discount prices - Austria's XXXLutz group. Back in 2010, they took over Slovenia's Lesnina, which resulted in the opening of a new and larger Lesnina shopping facility in Zagreb, and shortly after, the arrival of Mobelix in Croatia.

The upcoming Zagreb branch will open up at a busy city location, Slavonska Avenija 106, making it the 66th Mömax store to celebrate its fifteenth anniversary this year.

''Over the next two years, we're planning to open another office in Zagreb and in several other major cities in Croatia,'' said the marketing manager at Mömax, Martina Perić.

In addition to very attractive prices, Mömax is also featured on the market and praised for its additional customer services, such as sales teams that provide creative counselling and planning, and a 3D program which can aid in the design of custom kitchens.

Austria's XXXLutz Group, initially founded back in 1945, exceeded 5.6 billion euro in turnover, with 22,000 employees in a total of 271 branches last year, surpassing even the wildly popular IKEA, which had revenues of 4.9 billion euros during the same period in Germany, as was written on various German portals last month.

There are currently 45 XXXLutz stores, 52 Möbelix stores, and 16 Mömax stores in Austria, while Germany boasts 37 XXXL stores and 31 Mömax stores, and with those already impressive numbers, the company has announced further expansion to Eastern Europe.
