The Croatian Civil Aviation Agency (CCAA) issued a penalty charge notice to the international airport 'Franjo Tuđman' in Zagreb, following the recent indicent when a Croatia Airlines flight heading from Zagreb to Dubrovnik landed in Rome instead, reports tportal on July 1, 2017.
The flight OU664 was travelling from Zagreb to Dubrovnik on the night of June 16, but soon thereafter headed back to Zagreb because of high winds in Dubrovnik area. Instead of landing at Zagreb airport, the flight was diverted to Rome.
Croatia Airlines issued a statement saying Zagreb Airport couldn't have received the aircraft due to not being sufficiently staffed after midnight, prompting the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure to officially investigate the matter.
The CCAA decided on a penalty of HRK 50.000 for the airport and the person responsible, according to unofficial sources. Zagreb Airport has the right to appeal.
