Croatia’s Public Debt Falls to 78% of GDP

ZAGREB, April 5, 2018 - At the end of 2017, Croatia's public debt totalled 283.5 kuna billion and its share in GDP decreased for the third consecutive year, to 78%, and Raiffeisenbank Austria (RBA) analysts forecast that it will continue to decrease.

Croatia among EU Countries with Largest Decrease in Unemployment

ZAGREB, April 5, 2018 - The EU28 unemployment rate in February 2018 was down on the month and on the year, and similar trends were recorded in Croatia, according to Eurostat, the statistical office of the EU, which once again put Croatia in a group of countries with the biggest drop in the unemployment rate on the year.

Construction Works Performed Grow Strongly

Croatia Records Large Balance of Payments Surplus

ZAGREB, March 31, 2018 - Last year, Croatia achieved a surplus in the current account balance of payments of 1.9 billion euros, which is 695 million kuna more than in 2016, and despite a big deficit in foreign trade, the surplus was mostly a result of positive trends in the services account, particularly tourism, which generated a record revenue of 9.5 billion euros, the latest data released by the Croatian National Bank (HNB) indicate.

Croatian National Bank Loses 3% of Assets

ZAGREB, March 21, 2018 - After reaching a record nominal high of 127 billion kuna in December 2017, total assets of the Croatian National Bank (HNB) declined by 3.3% or 4.2 billion kuna to 123 billion kuna in January 2018, while increasing by 9.6% or 10.8 kuna billion in comparison with January 2017, Raiffeisenbank (RBA) says in a report.
