Minister’s Brother Nominated as Chair of Independent Agency

ZAGREB, April 26, 2018 - Lawmakers from two opposition parties – MOST and Social Democratic Party (SDP) – as well as deputies of the Independent Democratic Serb Party (SDSS), which is a junior partner in the ruling coalition, on Wednesday said that, although the nominee for the new head of the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) Tonko Obuljen was highly professional with the unquestionable references for that position, him being the brother of the current Culture Minister Nina Obuljen Koržinek raised some speculations that this appointment could amount to conflict of interest.

Creditors Accuse Other Stakeholders of Trying to Undermine Agrokor

ZAGREB, April 26, 2018 - Agrokor's five financial creditors – Fidelity International, Knighthead Capital Management, Sberbank of Russia, VTB Bank (Europe) and Zagrebačka Banka – said on Wednesday that claim filings based on guarantees issued by Agrokor’s subsidiaries had been reviewed and that they "are fully lawful and valid", accusing some of the protagonists in the process of Agrokor's restructuring "of publicly promoting their particular interests".
