Ferries to Hvar

Ferries are the lifeline of island life, and local residents are well versed in adjusting their schedules to the Jadrolinija timetable.  The state carrier is by far the busiest carrier, serving four ports on Hvar throughout the year.

Visitors arriving by road from Dubrovnik have the option of the short ferry crossing from Drvenik to Sućuraj, while the pretty town of Jelsa is made more accessible by the daily catamaran from Split, via Bol on Hvar's neighbouring island of Brač.

There is no car ferry connection to Hvar Town itself, but there are daily catamaran connections with Split and the island of Korčula, as well as a weekly connection to Vis.

Hvar's main ferry terminal is just outside Stari Grad, and the two-hour crossing from Split is the most popular way to arrive on Hvar. Additional ferries are available in season, including 'direct' services from Dubrovnik and Ancona.
