If you didn’t know, Jo Ahearne is Hvar’s very own Master of Wine, and the first Master of Wine ever to produce wine in Croatia. Though Ahearne Winery launched with a rosé from the indigenous Hvar variety Darnekusa, Jo has since added Plavac Mali and two white wines to their offering - and the Ahearne ‘Wild Skins’ was even named in the top 10 best wines in Croatia in 2017!
