Free Goats in Dol: All About the Application Process Here

By 5 April 2016

The Tartajun Association is doing everything what is in its power to revitalize the life in the small village Dol on the island of Hvar. With the biggest festival taking place in August (Edible Dormouse being the star of the festival), here is another action.

2 goats will be donated by the association as a way of promoting healthy nutrition and helping with the development of the rural area of the island.
Many will think this is funny, but someone, who is trying to buy raw milk of any kind on the island for months now without success, like me, this is really something I will applaud to. Bravo, Tartajun!!

The benefits of raw milk on our health are enormous, the more if the animal gets to be outside on green pasture. I would apply myself, but there are several requirements, which are rather problematic living in Jelsa on Pjaca. Not to mention how thrilled my husband would be..

Anyway, here is what the public call issued by Tartajun requires:
- residency in Dol area or the intention to keep the goat in this area
- an adequate space for keeping a goat

Additionally, preferred will be:
- candidates with a lower socio-economic status
- candidates less than 40 years old
- families with more children
- Croatian Defenders
- candidates who will claim in their motivation letter to provide pasture for the goat

All candidates are bound to care for the goat for at least 3 years. To apply, you need to provide:
1. Motivation letter
2. Copy of your ID
3. Proof of an adequate space for the goat (photograph)
4. Personal declaration about lower socio-economic status / family with more children / Croatian Defender (if applicable)

Application to be sent until April 15, 2016 to the Tartajun Application. More info at their FB page.
