This summer, Stari Grad will be celebrating the 2400th anniversary of its foundation with a series of cultural, gastro and sporting events!
Each event will be a unique experience, including everything from klapas singing, bike riding through UNESCO sites, or a wonderful gastronomic affair with traditional dishes from Stari Grad’s very own chefs.
On the 28th of May, Stari Grad held a concert in St. Stephen’s Square, with a capella singing by Faros Cantor Klapa and other various male vocalists from the island of Hvar.
On June 8th at 20:30h, celebrating 140 years of continuous activity, the Stari Grad Brass Orchestra will be performing a special program for the summer in Škor Square.
On June 11 at 17h another event (although far more recreational) is Cycling Through History. This event requires you to bicycle through UNESCO Stari Grad Plain, learning about the 2400 year old history in an active setting. In the evening following the race, the band Gustafi will hold a concert on Tvrdalj Square.
On June 13 at 20:30, The NA BON PRO gastro event and presentation of Stari Grad restaurants will be hosting an event. At this gastro event, Stari Grad restaurant chefs will have a task to prepare traditional dishes.
On the 25th of June, the famous klapa Cambi will hold a concert on Škor Square.
We hope that you're looking forward to celebrating the history of Stari Grad as much as we are!
