Valamar Lifestyle Brand [PLACES] to Launch with Hotel on Hvar

March 25, 2021 - The brand new Valamar lifestyle brand [PLACES], aiming to target younger travelers, will launch with a hotel opening on Hvar later this spring.

HRTurizam reports that lifestyle hotels have been a trend in the international hotel industry in recent years because they aim to create an authentic experience and push the boundaries of the traditional hotel concept. They are especially sought after among the younger target group of tourists, i.e., millennials.

Following new trends and signals from the market, Valamar has launched a new lifestyle brand called [PLACES] by Valamar.

The new hotel concept is based on getting to know the destination's true local Mediterranean lifestyle, focusing on authenticity. The brand is intended for guests seeking freedom of choice, modern design, and an authentic destination experience with full respect for nature and the environment.

One of the most significant features of this hotel is the [PLACESFLEXI] offer, which gives guests complete freedom to enjoy the restaurant offer in the rhythm that suits them best, according to Valamar. If for any reason they missed lunch or dinner - 25 euros of their daily credit can be used in a restaurant or hotel bar. What they don't spend that day, they can transfer to the next. Attention should also be drawn to the pool complex, which becomes the center of daily entertainment with live music by local bands and DJs, and the party continues after sunset.

With the introduction of the [PLACES] brand, Valamar continues to follow the latest trends in the hotel industry, said Davor Brenko, Valamar Riviera's vice president of sales and marketing, adding that this is a hotel concept intended primarily for millennials, young professionals, and those who recognize themselves in the specific lifestyle values that [PLACES] promotes.

The first Valamar hotel under the new brand will be HVAR [PLACESHOTEL] by Valamar in Stari Grad on Hvar (ex hotel Lavanda), for a renovation of which a total of around HRK 53 million will be invested. According to current plans, it will open in mid-May. The hotel has 179 rooms which, in addition to high-quality workmanship and equipment, will also have the possibility of cashless payment with a bracelet and contactless check-in.

"For HVAR [PLACESHOTEL], the most important will be the markets of Great Britain, the United States, Germany, Austria, and of course, the Croatian market. Hvar is a destination that has successfully positioned itself in the market segments of younger, relaxed, and at the same time experientially and environmentally aware people. That is why we chose Hvar as a destination and an ideal place to launch our new brand, from which we have high expectations in the future. In the next period, we plan to open several more hotels under the [PLACES] brand," Brenko points out.

The visual identity of the [PLACES] brand by Valamar is signed by Studio Sonda from Vižinada near Poreč, and it is one of five Valamar product brands that operate under the umbrella identity All you can holiday (Valamar Collection, Valamar Hotels & Resorts, Sunny by Valamar, and Camping Adriatic by Valamar).

Just 6 Days Left to Apply: Meet the Dubrovnik DN-i-R Stunning Regional Tours

March 25, 2021 - With just 6 days left to apply for the Dubrovnik DN-i-R (Digital Nomads in Residence) competition, a look at some of the magic that awaits the 10 lucky winners.

(This article is sponsored by the City of Dubrovnik and Dubrovnik Tourist Board.)

There are just six days to go until applications close for the Dubrovnik DN-i-R competition, the first of its kind in the world. Ten lucky winners, to be announced on TCN on April 5, will be guests of the city of Dubrovnik for four weeks from April 23. The Dubrovnik DN-i-R programme will be the first such cooperation between a destination and resident digital nomads, working together to develop the destination's strategy for its digital nomad offer.

tanja-polegubic-saltwater-nomads_1.png

The concept, developed and implemented by Saltwater Nomads, is a collaboration with the City of Dubrovnik, Dubrovnik Tourist Board, and the Croatian National Tourist Board, with media support from TCN.

In addition to the free accommodation, specialised workshops and other activities, Dubrovnik's ten remote-working guests will be taken around the region to explore some of the magic of Dubrovnik, both inside - but especially outside - its city walls.

I always find it amusing to hear tourists complaining that there is nothing to do in Dubrovnik once you have been around the old town. Nothing could be further from the truth! Add Dubrovnik, the city, to Dubrovnik, the region, and you have a quite sensational offer. And that is before you consider the gems right across international borders, such as the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Mostar in Bosnia and Hercegovina and Kotor in Montenegro.

Considering applying but not yet convinced? Perhaps this official overview of the excursions will help persuade you. You can find out more about the application process here.

1 - Tour of Dubrovnik Old Town

– sightseeing tour of the Old City of Dubrovnik and the city walls with the local guide – organized by Dubrovnik Tourist Board

2  - Korcula

 – a weekend trip to Korcula island (sightseeing tour of the Old City of Korcula – birthplace of Marco Polo; hiking /cycling from town Korcula to Lumbarda, winery visit; visiting other places on the island – Blato, Vela Luka…) – organized by Korcula Tourist Board

Korčula – this central Dalmatian island stretches out parallel to the nearby mainland in a west-east direction. The island is 46.8 km in length, with an average width of 5.3 to 7.8 kilometres and a surface area of 270 km2, making it the sixth-largest island in the Adriatic Sea. It is separated from the Pelješac peninsula by the Pelješac Channel, only 1270 m wide at its narrowest point. The island of Korčula is indented with a series of bays and coves. Exploring the island only adds to its natural beauty: every part of it is worth exploring. Near the city of Korčula is an archipelago of twenty uninhabited islands covered in dense macchia thickets and accessible coastline: on some, the smooth stone slabs along the shore are perfect for sunbathing. The island of Korčula has been inhabited since prehistoric times, with past traces of life being uncovered at many places on the island. The oldest finds were stone knives from the Neolithic age discovered on the islet of Badija near Korčula. The site with the richest Neolithic age finds is Vela spilja (Large Cave) at Vela Luka.

 3 - Mljet

-a weekend trip to Mljet island – one of the 8 national parks of Croatia (active tour of the island – cycling, hiking, kayaking, visit of the national park and 2 saltwater lakes, boatride to the Odysseus cave…) – organized by Mljet Tourist Board

Mljet – the first large island we come upon while sailing the from the southeast in Croatian waters. In historical times, the entire island was inhabited by the Illyrians. The Greeks, on their way to Lumbarda (island of Korčula) and other Adriatic settlements arrived there and stayed due to the water and bad weather. The island was also inhabited by the Romans, who left behind archaeological remnants, the most significant of which is the palace in Polače harbor, as well as the names of the island heights, hills and reefs, unquestionable proof of their residence on the island. Mljet is Croatia’s greenest island with lush Mediterranean vegetation, clear and clean sea, a gentle, sandy shoreline and a wealth of underwater sea life. This island is well known for its southern sorts of white and red wine, which receive a special flavour and aroma from the sun and the specific Mljet soil. The island is also well known for its goat’s cheese and honey which, in the past, was served in the emperor’s courts, and mostly for the warmness with which the islanders greet visitors to their island.

 4 - Konavle

– one-day excursion to Konavle area (sightseeing of the town Cavtat, museum in the village Cilipi, Old watermill in village Ljuta and some other sights and villages). – organized by Cavtat Konavle Tourist Board

Konavle is a region with particular natural beauties and contrasts: mountain and valley, green hills and naked stone, the blue and the green or, as called by the inhabitants of Konavle, "Gornja" and "Donja Banda". Fringed by the Konavle mountains in the North, bordered by the Adriatic Sea in the South, it reaches from the entry into the Bay of Kotor to the peninsula of Prevlaka in the East, and in the West, it inclines down to the cosy coves of Obod and Cavtat. The preserved natural, unique and exceptionally precious rural architecture, numerous monuments of the thousand-year-old history of this area, traditions that are hundreds of years old and have been kept through folklore, the distinctive traditional costumes of Konavle and the Konavle embroidery, the harmony of man's life and nature …all this renders Konavle unique and recognisable.

5 - Primorje

 – one-day excursion to Dubrovnik Primorje area (visit of town Slano, the Rector’s palace, villages up the hills…) – organized by Dubrovacko Primorje Tourist Board

The Coast of Dubrovnik is a gentle region of olive groves and vineyards, with an indented shore and lavish vegetation... Slano is the biggest and most important small town and a community centre. Traditionally, the villages in the immediate hinterland are municipally linked to it, forming a constituent part of the Community of the Dubrovnik Coast. Slano is 30 kilometres from the centre of Dubrovnik. It is situated in a spacious and beautiful bay of the same name, which was a flooded valley, next to the walled shoreline, opposite the island of Šipan and divided by the Koločep Channel. Slano is attractive due to its numerous pebble beaches, lush vegetation and pleasant climate.

The bay is protected from the wind, so that it is an ideal haven and anchorage for ships, boats and yachts. Its economy is based on tourism with accommodation provided by the hotels “Admiral” and “Osmine”, private pensions, apartments, campsites and other venues; also on agriculture (olives, vines, fruit), fishing and other marine activities.

Learn more on the official Slano Tourist Board website.

The final date for applications is March 31, so there is still time. It is going to be a fantastic 4 weeks in a dream destination. Full details on the competition, rules and application process on the Saltwater Nomads website.

Justice Minister Ivan Malenica: "Sorting Out Situation in Judiciary is in Everybody's Interest"

ZAGREB, 24 March, 2021 - Justice Minister Ivan Malenica said on Wednesday that it was in everybody's interest to have the situation in the judicial system sorted out as soon as possible.

Also, if the accusations made by convicted former Dinamo football club boss Zdravko Mamić against some judges prove to be well-founded, necessary proceedings should be expedited, Malenica told the RTL broadcaster on Wednesday evening.

Considering this case, Malenica said that the depositions of the judges concerned had been submitted and would be forwarded to the relevant bodies, including the DORH and USKOK prosecutorial authorities.

Furthermore, the State Judicial Council is expected to decide on disciplinary measures against the judges from Osijek County Court next week, he added.

Considering Zdravko Mamić's accusations against the Supreme Court President Đuro Sessa, Malenica said that Sessa had stated that his last contact with Mamić was some 15 years ago.

He added that there were currently no indications hinting at the possibility of launching proceedings against Sessa.

Malenica announced that an inspection would be conducted at Osijek County Court following the latest developments.

MOST Starts Collecting MPs' Signatures to Dismiss Supreme Court President

ZAGREB, 24 March, 2021 - The opposition Bridge party has announced that on Thursday it starts collecting MPs' signatures to initiate the procedure for the dismissal of Supreme Court President Đuro Sessa after he was mentioned as being one of the judges allegedly bribed by convicted football mogul Zdravko Mamić.

Bridge said that the "recent events seriously undermined the reputation of and trust in the Croatian judiciary, both the reputation of individual judges and of the judiciary as a whole," and that therefore it was essential to launch the proceedings to relieve Đuro Sessa of his duties as Supreme Court President.

The party recalled that Sessa had been appointed Supreme Court President on 14 July 2017 with 84 votes in favour and 33 against and that under the Courts Act he is responsible for the work of the Supreme Court which ensures the unified application of the law and that everyone is equal before the law.

SPORTYN, Pioneering Vertical Integration, Democratising Sporting Opportunity

March 24, 2021 — Doing for sport what LinkedIn does for business, how the SPORTYN app is harnessing the power of vertical integration in social media to level the playing field of sporting opportunity for 2 billion people.

She smiled. She was not alone.

All those thousands of hours of solitary training in her village in Peru to help realise her dream of winning Olympic Gold in the 100 metres were starting to get noticed. All over the world, people were watching her training videos, despite her never having left her native country.

How ironic, the mother smiled to herself, as she filmed her son showcasing his basketball moves in her native Vietnam, the fourth day in a row that her son had asked her to do so. In an era where gadgets alienate relationships between parents and children, here was a growing bond, and a healthy one.

Amazing, exclaimed the teenager from Belarus. His new footballing friend from Georgia just had his video liked and commented on by Croatian World Cup star Ivan Rakitic. Imagine such a star watching our videos!

Taking a shower after scoring the winning goal in the Champions League qualifier, he reflected on how his huge success could so easily have come to nothing, had not that chance encounter in his village in Mali not resulted in him being spotted. How many fantastic talents are out there, waiting to be discovered? If only there was a simple way to give back.

Four seemingly random stories from all corners of the planet, but all connected in two important ways.

The first is through sport, a passion for them all, from world-famous professionals to aspiring amateurs. The power of sport connects them, and they are not alone. There are over 2 billion people engaged in sport all over the globe, of whom only 500 million are professionals, and just 5% of those become stars in their respective sports. For many, it will be a case of what might have been, as they are unable to reach the limelight to showcase their considerable talents. Without a chance encounter such as the one in Mali above, how would agents and talent spotters find them?

There is now a way, with the launch of a new app that uses the power of vertical integration of social media, AI technology and the finer aspects of established global social media such as Facebook, Instagram and Tik Tok, to level the playing field of sporting opportunity as never before.

The second thing which connects the four stories above is SPORTYN.

As a result of the tremendous early interest in the SPORTYN application, it has already been featured as App of the Day in the App Store in 5 countries — the UK, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. Videos have already been uploaded from more than 80 countries.

SPORTYN has been developed based on a natural evolution of social media, building on the success and affirmed benefits of earlier platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Tik Tok.

With the continued development and process of change, users are always demanding more from social media. As a result, SPORTYN provides these answers in a specialised vertically integrated form for sports and athletes seeking a community of like-minded individuals with a specific purpose to promote themselves and their sport to a global audience.

Since its launch in October, 2020, SPORTYN has attracted users from some 85 countries (United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Canada, Brazil are Turkey are the top ten.) More than 30% of users have uploaded video content of aspects of their engagement in sport, and the engagement is quite incredible.

Facebook is a multi-billion dollar company in business for over a decade, and with an average session duration of 4.82 minutes. Just a few months old and on a fraction of the budget, Sportyn’s average visit time is 30% longer, a staggering 6.43 minutes, and still growing. Part of the reason is that SPORTYN is at the cutting edge of the next generation of social media, harnessing the power of niche and vertical integration.

While your Facebook feed is filled with photos of your friends’ cats, children, ‘meaningful’ life quotes and memes, and your own posts are only seen by 5% of your followers, SPORTYN provides only engaging content for the niche and passion of the user.

Passionate about archery and training 7 days a week? What could you learn and how could you compare your skills with other budding archers from around the globe? Simple video uploads no more than 60 seconds each, showcasing the individual talents of amateur (and professional) athletes all over the world quickly forms a niche community where the content is 100% relevant to the user. Add the social media tools of shareability, virality and comments, and a new world opens up for that athlete in her village in Peru in the first story, above.

The power of vertical integration of social media is enhanced with the powerful ‘filter’ feature built into the SPORTYN app, which allows users to quickly search for their favorite and targeted athlete / athletes based on many different categories including country, sport, age and many more. No other SOCIAL MEDIA application offers this advanced and valuable built in feature.

And what a simple and effective way for that famous Mali footballer with the Champions League winner to give back. Checking out some young Malian footballer displaying their talents. A comment, or a ‘like’ from the Mali football legend who made it in Europe would do wonders for confidence and encouragement.

As parents worry what their kids are watching in their rooms behind closed doors, SPORTYN takes a different approach. It is based on sport, healthy activity, and encouraging its users to be the very best they can. Parents wanting to encourage their kids to achieve their sporting dream can now participate through the same technology that is alienating so many parents and children with less healthy purposes.

Croatian World Cup finalist, Ivan Rakitić, is the Brand Ambassador of SPORTYN, one of many top professional athletes who recognise the power of SPORTYN, as well as its ability to afford more opportunity for talented young athletes who are starting to get noticed.

“No matter what part of the world you live in and in what conditions you train in, SPORTYN helps you show off your talent to a global sporting audience and those who, recognising your potential, can change your life literally overnight,” he said.

Rakitić is one of many stars who will take in what promises to be perhaps the most viral aspect of SPORTYN’s appeal. SPORTYN will soon launch sporting challenges, whereby a global star will demonstrate a particular skill and invite others to post a similar video to pit their skills against the stars. The star player will comment, like, and engage with the audience taking part, a huge motivating factor for youngsters such as the teenager from Belarus, above. Web searches for Rakitic now return results which include SPORTYN videos.

A unique opportunity to pit one’s skills against both peers and a global superstar simultaneously. Those who successfully complete challenges will be rewarded with unique awards, including signed jerseys, digital meet and greets, and other unique and memorable experiences

SPORTYN will use both AI and its own customised algorithms to analyse and rank athlete profiles, videos and other criteria by both country and at a global level. Every 12 year-old basketball player will want to be a Top 10 SPORTYN athlete in their city or country to get recognised and be able to say they are among the best.

With more than 90 sports already featured on the app and users in 85 countries, SPORTYN is literally tearing down the sporting barriers on every level. Fringe sports which did not have a global audience are now hosted on a platform that is both proactive and educational. Fringe sports athletes are slowly getting connected through vertical integration of social media in their niche. In what can a very lonely activity, training and challenging oneself has additional motivations, as well as an audience to provide feedback and encouragement.

One of the first athletes to upload videos to Sportyn was Nicolas Radičić, a 16-year-old Croat, who had moved from Zagreb to Texas. An outstanding talent at both soccer and American football, Radicic has made excellent progress, helped in part by SPORTYN, and he is the number one kicker for his age group for American football in the USA.

SPORTYN goes much further than just providing a platform, however. One key aim is to build a database of athletes around the world. Using AI to analyse every video, including speed and number of touches, SPORTYN can rank athletes using the platform based on ability for various criteria. Excellent news for talent spotters, as well as those athletes in remote places with no other option to promote their skills.

The SPORTYN community is already bringing positive examples for users, developing role models, mentors and inspiring stories to motivate younger generations to aspire and achieve more.

SPORTYN is the brainchild of former professional footballer, Ivan Ilečić, whose 16-year-old son plays for Dinamo Zagreb. Already well-versed in developing sporting apps, including Once, Ilečić explained his vision.

“We had a clear vision to offer athletes a unique and powerful virtual community and a tool for their easier and direct promotion globally. What LinkedIn is for business people, SPORTYN is for athletes. It’s a platform where you simply have to be present to expand your networking, be noticed or contacted by the right people who can change your life in seconds. Parents and athletes often film and archive videos from their sports competitions in the hope that at some point they will be able to send them to specific agents, scouts, or anyone who could help them show off their talent. We believe that currently billions of sports videos are left unused on computers. Some of them were published on the most famous social networks but as these platforms do not allow reaching the target audience, it is almost impossible to find them.

“We solved that problem with the SPORTYN app and, additionally, with the launch of the unique SPORTYN ID, we solved another important problem in promotion of athletes. Namely, we created a central place for all sports data and CVs of athletes that are currently dispersed on thousands of different websites, which is why they were unusable and did not bring any benefit to athletes or those to whom such content is important”, said Ilečić, the founder and CEO of Sportyn Inc.

The Olympic Games is every athlete’s dream, a chance to compete with the very best every year. SPORTYN provides athletes to present themselves globally every day and as an application has the ability to generate tremendous awareness for the most popular of sports football to new and upcoming sports like snowboarding.

Finally, an application that levels the playing field for all, promotes healthy activity, gives hope and inspiration to potentially billions, and which will also make finding the next Ronaldo that bit easier.

The 2018 World Cup finalists opened their qualification campaign at Stožice Stadium in Ljubljana against Slovenia on Wednesday, after which they will play Cyprus (Saturday, 6 pm) and Malta (Tuesday, 8:45 pm) at Rujevica Stadium in Rijeka. Slovakia and Russia are also in Croatia's group.

Croatia had recorded six wins and three draws in nine games against Slovenia so far.

Zlatko Dalić decided on an offensive lineup against Slovenia, playing a 4-3-3 formation. Modrić was in a more offensive role in front of the midfield, and Andrej Kramarić, Ivan Perišić, and Nikola Vlašić started from the first minute.

Matjaž Kek also played in a 4-3-3 formation, showcasing two players from the Croatian First League in the starting 11, namely Osijek's Damjan Bohar and Dinamo's Petar Stojanović

Croatia: Livaković; Vrsaljko, Lovren, Vida, Barišić; Kovačić, Brozović; Vlašić, Modrić, Perišić; Kramarić

Recap

Slovenia and Croatia kicked off at 8:45 pm in front of empty stands. Croatia maintained possession for the better part of the first 15 minutes and even had a few chances. Kramarić shot from the top of the penalty area in the 7th minute, only to be saved by Oblak, while Vlašić hit the inner post 3 minutes later.

Slovenia, however, capitalized on one of their first attacks, and Sandi Lovrić scored for the 1:0 Slovenia lead in the 16th minute.

It all started from a weak ball played back by Perišić. Vida's clearance eventually found Lovrić, who was left alone to score from 15 meters.

Croatia had a few more chances in the first half, particularly from free-kicks, but nothing resulted in the equalizer. The match ended 1:0 for Slovenia at the half.

Dalić subbed on Dinamo superstar Mislav Oršić for Borna Barišić (who was booked with a yellow card) to start the second half.

Croatia attacked aggressively at the start of the second half, with Mislav shooting on target for an easy Oblak save.

In the 64th minute, Josip Brekalo was subbed on for Andrej Kramarić, hoping to add fresh legs to the offense.

In the 69th minute, Ante Budimir came in for Vlašić, and Pašalić for Kovačić 10 minutes later.

Croatia had no problem pushing the attack but struggled immensely with finding the back of the net. It didn't help that Slovenia boasts one of the best keepers in the world.

Spanish ref Antonio Mateu Lahoz added 3 minutes of injury time. Oršić hit wide of the goal in the final seconds for the Slovenia win.

The match against Slovenia was Luka Modrić's 134th, equalizing Darijo Srna for the most national team caps ever.

President Zoran Milanović: MPs will Have to Vote Because it is Their Constitutional Obligation

ZAGREB, 24 March, 2021 - President Zoran Milanović said on Wednesday that Parliament would have to vote on his candidate for Supreme Court President, Zlata Đurđević, because that was its obligation under the Constitution.

"They will have to take a vote not because I want them to, but because that is their obligation under the Constitution," Milanović told the press during a visit to the northern Adriatic island of Cres.

Milanović has sent a letter to Parliament calling on MPs to fulfil their constitutional obligation and vote on his proposal to appoint Zlata Đurđević the Supreme Court President.

He accused Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandroković of concealing the document he had sent to Parliament, adding that Jandroković would not be punished for this theft. "What he did is unprecedented. The HDZ is trying to set up a dictatorship."

Milanović said that the Constitutional Court, which did not support Milanović's position, was a political body consisting of "mainly washed-up HDZ members.

Commenting on the statements by former Dinamo football club boss Zdravko Mamić, who accused some of the judges of corruption, Milanović said: "Always the same story, the same people. Mamić provided some evidence, but those people are no-goods. People who administer justice in such cases and who behave like that cannot be called anything else but no-goods."

Milanović said he did not believe that Mamić had financially supported former President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović. "One should be careful when making such direct accusations. She was accused of serious corruption and I think she will seek satisfaction in court," he added.

Milanović said he believed that judges such as those who had accepted bribes from Mamić were in a minority and that the majority of judges were honourable.

He said that the HDZ-controlled justice system was designed by senior HDZ official Vladimir Šeks. "They are destroying this country and I will fight against that," the President said.

Two Opposition MPs Accuse Gov't of Vaccination Delays

ZAGREB, 24 March (Hina) - Andreja Marić of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Rada Borić of the New Left party on Wednesday critcised the Croatian government as well as the European Commission over procrastination in administering COVID-19 vaccines.

Addressing the national parliament, Andreja Marić said that the Croatian government failed this test.

Until three days ago, a mere 470,000 doses of all vaccine producers were delivered to Croatia, which is only 14 doses per 100 inhabitants, Marić said.

To date, 358,000 doses have been administered, and 8.9% of citizens have received one shot so far of the two-dose vaccine and 2.2% have been inoculated with both doses. Only Bulgaria and Latvia have fared worse than Croatia in the European Union, she said.

Marić insists that delays in coronavirus vaccine deliveries are not the result of the unjust distribution inside the European Union but a consequence of Croatia's wrong decision to rely on AstraZeneca vaccines at the beginning.

During his visit to the Loznati cheese factory, Milanović was informed that its new plant was waiting for an official inspection and permit to launch operations and the production of sheep and goat cheese.

The Loznati cooperative has a flock of about 350 sheep and it plans to attract other local sheep farmers to join the cooperative. A total of HRK 5.5 million was invested in the cheese factory, with HRK 2 million of that being a grant from the EU Rural Development Programme, HRK 2.5 million from a loan with the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development (HBOR) and the remaining HRK 1 million invested by the cooperative itself.

The project was presented to the President by a member of the management board of the HEP national electricity provider, Petar Sprčić, the director of the Kvarner regional energy agency and member of the president's energy council, Darko Jardas and others.

The area of the future power plant covers 17.3 hectares divided into 13 segments and each will have a power of 500 kilowatts and a total installed power of 6.5 megawatts. The plant is expected to generate almost 8.5 million kilowatt hours of electricity a year which is sufficient to supply 2,000 average households.

Milanović said that visiting the power plant was the "most important element of his visit to Cres."
