Quickest Transfer from Dubrovnik Airport to Hvar? 45 Minutes Yesterday

By 27 April 2016

How to get from Dubrovnik Airport to Hvar?

It is a route which is taken by many, and there are now an increasing number of options with private transfers, catamarans and buses. But what if you have a little more spending money and wanted to get there super fast?

Like the tourists who arrived yesterday - just 45 minutes from Dubrovnik Airport into Jelsa with a private seaplane charter. How about that for taking the pain out of the transfer, with some spectacular views of the Adriatic coast thrown in for good measure.

A few years ago, we helped bring a Swiss helicopter company to Stari Grad, where they were offering transfers all over Croatia. The lovely young pilot was staying with us, and I will never forget having a coffee with him, before he disappeared to the Stari Grad airstrip. Less than half an hour later, I waved to him up in the sky as he was flying his clients to Dubrovnik Airport, where a private jet was waiting for the onward journey to Moscow.

The seaplane transfer is even quicker than that. And while the expanding network for scheduled flights is impressive, it is worth remembering that there is the possibility of chartering the plane for a private flight. Currently operating from the airports of Dubrovnik, Split, Zadar, Rijeka, Losinj, Pescara and Ancona, as well as seaports on Hvar, Lastovo, Korcula, Pag, Rab and downtown Pula, a seaplane charter offers great flexibility. It will cost you more than a ferry ticket, but for those with the money who would like to keep their transit times to a minimum, a great addition to Croatia's luxury tourism offer.
