A big weekend for the island's leading hotel group Suncani Hvar this weekend, as the newly revamped Pharos, hvar bayhill hotel, will have its grand opening party to celebrate its 7 million euro upgrade from tired two-star hotel to funky four-star magic appealing to Hvar's younger tourist, and the first millennial hotel on the island.
It will be a great opportunity to showcase the island, and Suncani has invited a large group of media and partners for the weekend to celebrate the opening, as well as provide a programme of relaxation and entertainment.
The hotel which opened for business two weeks ago, is a new departure for the island's hotel tourism, and despite the fact I am a dinosaur compared the target group, I am looking forward to seeing the presentation of this latest evolution of island tourism.
The weekend will include welcome dinner tonight, a tour of the Suncani hotels in the morning, followed by a cruise to the Pakleni Islands and barbecue before the big party tomorrow night.
There have been lots of very positive changes in Suncani Hvar in the last year, and we will be marking the opening here at Total Hvar with the launch of Suncani Hvar Week, taking a daily look at what is new in each hotel, as well as some interiews with some of the key players in the company.
