The Hvar promotion continues...

I am not sure how I missed this at the time when it aired, but Hvar provided the stunning backdrop for a popular reality show in the States, WAGS Miami, which aired a couple of months ago on E! Channel. I have just watched the show, expecting to find it as one more party promotion, but the opposite was in fact the case. Let's start with what the show is about, referring to our friends over at Wikipedia:

"WAGS Miami is an American reality documentary television series that premiered on October 2, 2016, on E! television network, making it the first spin-off of WAGS. The reality show chronicles both the professional and personal lives of several WAGs (an acronym for wives and girlfriends of high-profile sportspersons). Amber Mazzola and Lori Gordon serve as executive producers for the series."

Living in Jelsa all these years, following WAGS is not really my thing, so I have no idea how famous these ladies are, but the show is watched by a million people, and Hvar really shines in the background of the main action, the burning issues of the lives of four young ladies with famous husbands.

The filming was another triumph for Suncani Hvar Hotels, which has shown again its ability to cater to international film crews, and there is gorgeous footage of the cascading pools of Hotel Amfora, as well as Hotel Adriana's Top Bar and Butchery and Wine restaurant (still the best terrace in Hvar Town in my opinion - DO go for a lazy breakfast), as well as countless footage of Hvar Town, as the stars of the show went off exploring. There were plenty of shares from the show's stars on Instagram too, and you can get a flavour on this link.

And here is where things were a little surprising. I was expecting the Hula Hula and Carpe Diem stereotypes, but instead the action takes us to an idyllic olive grove in Vrisnik for a personalised wine tasting of Ivo Dubokovic's wines and a selection of Hvar's excellent olive oils. A speedboat trip to the hidden beach of Stiniva on Vis (well, perhaps not so hidden these days, since it was named Best European Beach 2016...). Just two of the excellent day trips on offer from the hotels.

All in all, a sexy promotion to the younger well-heeled American market, who are becoming increasingly more attracteed to Croatia's premier island.

The episode is live on the Internet, but you may have to do some registering to see it. Check it out here
