Explore the Wines, Olives, Beaches and History of Lumbarda

The easternmost settlement of Korčula Island, Lumbarda is a quaint village nestled around the sandy valley used to produce wines and olive groves on the surrounding hills. Although today mainly known for two sandy beaches, it is still an important place for wine production, especially the indigenous variety Grk, a white wine whose name refers to its stronger taste and possibly its origins, potentially brought over by Greek settlers.

Recent news from the village upgraded its historical importance: a large and essential piece of the Lumbarda Psephisma was recovered, a 2.300 years old legal document carved into stone.
