Anthony Smolic

Anthony was born in Melbourne to Croatian parents Ante and Ankica, and spent much of his childhood at Melbourne Croatia Soccer Club (as a junior player, supporter and later board member), and Sv. Nikola Tavelic Croatian Catholic Centre (current board member), as well as playing and contributing to a number of other clubs and associations, A former president of the Croatian Students’ Association of Victoria, Anthony is a graduate of La Trobe University, whilst also spending some tine studying at the University of Zadar in the late nineties. Whilst in Zadar, Anthony was an intern at Vecernji List, wrote for Slobodna Dalmacija, and played football for local clubs NK Debeljak and NK Zlatna Luka in Sukosan. As a father of four, Anthony’s children currently perform with Folklorna Grupa “Mladi Hrvati” Clifton Hill, and play football for St Albans Dinamo.
