Dubrovnik's premier island welcomes 2017's spring season...
The idyllic, emerald island that sits endearingly just off the shores of Dubrovnik opened its doors to the spring season of 2017 yesterday with the maiden voyage (all 600 metres of it) from the old harbour to the island of Lokrum leaving the mainland at 10:00am.
Lokrum is much loved and very popular among locals and visitors alike. It's lush, evergreen covered surface drawing thousands of people throughout the summer. The island, which is entirely unhabited and settled permanently only peacocks, rabbits, exotic plant life and various other non-human life forms, has a deeply interesting history and is dear to the hearts of residents. The perfect escape from Dubrovnik's eternal crowds and ideal for photographers, nature lovers, swimmers and those simply hoping for a breath of fresh air, Lokrum is not to be missed.
Adult tickets for the spring season (the prices for the summer season will be updated should they alter) come at a price of 120hrk, with tickets for children between the ages of 5 and 15 costing 20hrk. The boats will run from 10:00am until 03:00pm every day through spring until the summer season is upon us.
