Free Transport for People with Disabilities In Dubrovnik's Old City

Dubrovnik, despite all its charm, has never really succeeded in being a disability friendly destination, could all that be about to change?

According to a report from DuList on the 3rd of April 2017, the City of Dubrovnik and the Multiple Sclerosis Society will provide a free transport service within the walls of the historical Old City.

Dubrovnik, particularly the Old City, is notoriously problematic to tackle even for the most able bodied of people during the summer months, the tiny side streets and difficulty in passing through alleyway restaurants is not for the chlaustrophobic, and the stairs you will find along the back end of one side are enough to make even the most seasoned of mountain goats sigh. That, coupled with the heat of the summer sun and the crowds the Old City naturally pulls in through its five historical entrances can be offputting for a great many people, physically able or otherwise. Not that I want to dissuade you, of course.

Despite various obstacles, which are the fault of nobody but the mere awkward infrastructure of the city itself, everyone and their dog rightly wants to take in the sheer beauty of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, but this can present an enormous problem for anyone who requires the use of equipment such as wheelchairs.

Thankfully, this commendable and much, much needed free transport service can now be accessed around the clock (0-24 hours) via the phone number: (385) 098 915 2834.
