Blue Flag Raised at Dubrovnik's ACI Marina for 19th Time

The internationally recognised Blue Flag takes its place at Dubrovnik's ACI Marina for the nineteenth time.

As DuList reported on the 9th of June, 2017 the prestigious Blue Flag has been raised at Dubrovnik's ACI Marina after being awarded by the Foundation for Environmental Education - FEE.

The globally respected flag is a worthy recognition for safety, ecological acceptability and maintenance. On this occasion, the Acting Director of the Dubrovnik Maritime Director Niko Šalj, and the newly elected Mayor of the City of Dubrovnik, Mato Frankovic were readily welcomed. The flag carries a special significance for Frankovic, who had been responsible for the ACI Marina in the previous eight years.

The Blue Flag for Beaches and Marinas is an international environmental program for the protection of the sea and coastal environment, the primary goal is to raise awareness and create and enable sustainable management of both the sea and the coastline. The criteria for awarding Blue Flags are surprisingly demanding and in order to be granted the award, a wide range of areas must be more than adequately covered: eco-education, public information, water quality, environmental management and the security and quality of services.

The ceremony was also attended by representatives of Dubrovnik Neretva County, Eko-Omblići and guests and friends of the marina.
