Dubrovnik Half-Marathon: What You Need to Know About Road Closures

Stradun, the main street in the Old Town, will host two manifestations on Saturday, April the 29th, 2017 the ''Children’s Day'' where the young runners will get the chance to show off their athletic skills, and the ''City Walls Race''

The main event will be held on April the 30th and nearly 2000 runners from here in Croatia and from abroad are expected to compete in the International Dubrovnik Half-Marathon and the 5K Charity Race for Konavle's Nevio. The race route crosses Stradun and locals and international visitors are advised to plan their activities in advance due to the closure of the main street.

If you do plan on driving around, take note of these traffic restrictions for Sunday, April 30th, from 09:00. until 13:00, when the following streets in Dubrovnik will be closed:

Iza Grada, Brsalje, Branitelja Dubrovnika, Put od Republike, Vukovarska, Dr. Ante Starčevića Street, Nikole Tesle, Obala Stjepana Radića, Obala Ivana Pavla II, state road D420 Solska baza – Sustjepan, former regional road 6254 Sustjepan – Prijevor.

The race is out-and-back with the start and finish on Stradun (the main street of Dubrovnik's historic town).

Runners will head out along the coast on the main coastal road, turning at the half-way point at Rozat Gornji. From there, they will make their way back to the Old City where they will run on the city walls before reaching the finish line in the Old Town.

With the motto "More Than a Race", these sporting events are designed to promote a healthier lifestyle in a city with a more than rich gastronomic tradition.
