Buntak Unveils Dazzling Artworks at the Museum of Modern Art Dubrovnik

Tomislav Buntak is a renowned Croatian artist from Zagreb who was invited to the Museum of Modern Art Dubrovnik to present his new attention-grabbing works. This time, he showcased his exhibition under the title of “Human Garden of Mercy” that was opened last night on Thursday, May 11.

Buntak’s works were presented to the Dubrovnik audience for the first time and the positive reaction and interaction were immediate. The exhibition demonstrated the creativity of the Zagreb-born artist who turned the gallery into a site-specific environment where works were not only displayed on the walls, but instead became a part of them. Along with the site-specific fluorescent works covering all the walls of the biggest museum halls on the 2nd floor, bitmap drawings on paper were showcased on the 3rd floor.

His works are interpreted as “retro-contemporary figuration” and “postmodern postimpressionism”, but he prefers to define himself as a “postmodern nomad” or “postmodern eclectic” claiming that he is not ashamed to admit that he does the works to please the public too, not just himself as an artist.
