Worried about possible health troubles during your vacation in Dubrovnik? We've got you covered: Prefect of Dubrovnik-Neretva County Nikola Dobroslavić signed the contracts for co-financing additional medical teams in the tourist season of 2017, reports Korcula Online on June 14, 2017.
As the temporary population in the wider Dubrovnik area significantly grows in summer months due to tourist activity, the county has recognised the need for an increased number of health professionals. To improve the standards of health care for foreign patients, and based on the agreement with local authorities, the County decided on locations and means of providing reinforced health care. Additional medical teams will be organised from July 1 to August 31 in towns of Dubrovnik, Korčula and Ploče, as well as in the municipalities of Mljet, Ston, Lumbarda, Orebić, Trpanj and Slivno.
The healthcare model will cost a total of HRK 740.000; the County will participate with 476.000 kuna, the Ministry of Tourism with 123.300 kuna, while the towns and municipalities will cover the remaining part with a sum of 140.000 kuna.
Each health clinic will get an additional team comprised of a family physician and a nurse. We hope for the smallest possible number of medical emergencies, but if by any chance you find yourself in need of a doctor, it's good to know you're up for shorter waiting times and more medical staff at your service!
