October 14, 2019 - Croatia’s best gymnast Tin Srbic won the silver medal at the World Championships in the men’s horizontal bar final on the last day of the competition in Stuttgart, Germany. He even performed in the final with an injured wrist.
Namely, HRT reports that the 2017 World Champion in Montreal had to practice with a lower starting grade due to an injury, but with a very accurate performance, he earned a total score of 14,666 points, which was enough for the silver medal.
The world champion is Brazilian Arthur Mariano, who achieved a score of 14,900 points, while the bronze medal went to Russo Artur Dalaloyan (14,533), who also won the silver medal in the vault on Sunday.
After winning the silver medal in Stuttgart, young Croatian gymnast Tin Srbic won his fourth Croatian medal at the World Championships and his 11th at major international competitions.
Srbic also became the first Croatian gymnast with two medals at the World Championships. Recall, the Zagreb gymnast won the gold medal two years ago in Montreal, and now in Stuttgart, he’s booked the silver.
However, Srbic isn’t the only Croatian to take home a medal this weekend. Filip Ude celebrated the silver medal on the pommel horse, while Mario Moznik received a medal on the bars.
This is Ude’s second medal after the at the 2014 World Championships in Nanning, while Moznik won third in the same championship.
Let's add that Srbic has won a total of eleven medals for Croatia at the Olympics, World and European Championships.
Namely, Croatia has received one medal at the Olympics and one silver thanks to Filip Ude in Beijing in 2008. Croatian gymnasts have won four medals at the World Championships and six at the European championships.

September 16, 2019 - Celebrated Croatian gymnast Tin Srbic made an international comeback in a big way. In the final of the World Cup in Paris, Tin owned the competition to win the gold medal with an impressively high score of 14.900 points.
HRT reports that this competition is the first since the World Cup in Osijek back in May for the former world champion and current European vice-champion, and this gold medal is the first to shine for Srbic after March and Doha. This gold medal in Paris is the sixth in the World Cup for Srbic. However, worth more than the gold medal itself is the fact that Tin won valuable points in the fight to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics, and has kicked off with excellent preparation for the Stuttgart World Championship.
“It was very difficult for me because the qualifications and final are within 24 hours, so your hands are heavy, but the agreement with the trainer was to do the strongest exercise no matter what, and that's what I did. I made a small mistake because I failed to connect all four flight elements, so the initial rating was 6.3, not 6.5. All in all, I am very pleased with what I have done, and I am ready for the World Championship! And now, I can finally have a real dinner and the best burger I have ever eaten, which is another reason why I like coming to Paris,” Tin said after the final in a cheerful mood.
Russian Sergei Eltcov (14.700) took second place in the final, while Taiwanese gymnast Chia-Hung Tang came in third with a score of 14.550.
Next week, the Croatia national team awaits a new World Cup station - in Guimaraes, Portugal. Matija Baron and Renato Prpic, as well as Aurel Benovic, will perform again, while Croatia’s female gymnasts Ana Dzherek, Tijana Tkalcec, and Petra Furac will begin their path to the Portugal podium.
After winning the gold medal, Tin Srbic returns to Zagreb before his next challenge - the Stuttgart World Championship.

Croatia’s best female gymnast Ana Đerek won the gold medal at the World Cup competition in Osijek after a brilliant floor performance, while the best Croatian male gymnast Tin Srbić finished sixth after falling during his routine, reports HRT on May 27, 2019.
In the final, Đerek achieved a high score of 13,033 for her routine, which was more than enough for first place.
This was Đerek’s third appearance before the Osijek audience where she achieved her best result. Along with her excellent performance on the floor, Ana placed fourth in the final of the balance beam. With this result, Ana surpassed her previous best placement in Osijek - fifth place on the floor in 2015.
To win the medal on the balance beam, the Split gymnast missed by only 0.034 points.
“I went into the finals as the first, so there was a chance to stay in first, but I did not think I was going to succeed. This is my first medal, and I did not think it would be the gold right away. I'm so happy! Of the four exercises, these were four good performances. Really… even the final beam was better than the qualification. I managed to stay focused and repeat it all. I'm thrilled and proud of myself. The audience is incredible here. You only feel something like this once in a lifetime,” said Đerek after the triumph.
With the same number of points in second place in the standings was Ukrainian gymnast Angelina Radivilov who, despite a higher starting point, had a weaker performance than Ana. The bronze medal on the floor was awarded to the Romanian gymnast Alexandra Mihai (12,933).
As far as the balance beam is concerned, the first place was awarded to Ukraine's Angelina Radivilov (13,333), while second and third were achieved by Romanian gymnasts Carmen Ghiciuc (13,100) and Alexandra Mihai (12,667).
The second Croatian representative in Sunday’s final was the current European finalist Tin Srbić who performed his new exercise, which needs to be at its peak in the second part of the season for the World Cup in Stuttgart. This was also Tin’s first appearance after winning the silver at the European Championship in Poland.
Unfortunately, Srbić did not reach his third consecutive gold in Osijek. At this year's edition of the World Cup, Tin came in sixth with a score of 12,933 thanks to a fall at the beginning of the exercise.
“That’s gymnastics. I rarely make mistakes, but it's an indication that everyone makes mistakes, it happens. I love to perform in front of a full auditorium; it's even more exciting to me. The problem is when you're not in shape, then gymnastics cannot really help. I have experienced and realized this now. I've set too high expectations, and went to do the toughest exercise. The fall happened at the beginning of the exercise, making it very difficult to move on. I'm glad I managed to get to the end of the exercise without falling. I'm really happy to have garnered the courage for this tough exercise,” Tin Srbić said.
The best score of the DOBRO World Cup in Osijek this year was achieved by Russian Aleksej Rostov (13.733). The silver medal also went to Russia, to Aleksander Karcevo (13,600), while the bronze medal went to the Cypriot gymnast Georgiou.
Croatia thus participated in six big finals at this year's edition of the World Cup in Osijek, and gold medals were won by Robert Seligman on the pommel horse and Ana Đerek on the floor.

Tin Srbić (22) has won the silver medal at the European Championships in Szczecin! The Croatian gymnast became the second-best in Europe in the horizontal bar event, reports, 24 Sata on April 14, 2019.
"It was obviously a big final. This is my first European medal. All three of us did the exercises of our lives,” said Tin Srbić, Croatia’s best gymnast, after winning the silver at the European Championships in Szczecin, Poland.
“It was the best exercise I ever did. As soon as I finished, I knew I had a medal. That is my incentive going further, to attack the European, and later Olympic gold. It is much harder to defend a medal than to win the first medal. The pressure is higher because everyone is expecting you to repeat it. I wasn’t scared, but when I was warming up, I did not feel good, I was kind of stiff. But as soon as I got to the bar, it was great,” Srbić added.
Dutchman Epke Zonderland took the gold, and Artur Dalalojan won the bronze. This is Zoderland’s third European title, with three world golds and an Olympic gold from London in 2012.
“Zonderland is brilliant, has a lot of experience, and as soon as he sat down next to me after the exercise, he told me he did the exercise of his life. What's even better is that I can attack the scores he got. As long as I am free from injuries, I have continuity, and everything will go well,” Srbić said.
Srbić returns to Croatia on Monday.
"We travel in the morning, then we will come home and celebrate this silver," Srbić concluded.
Recall, in 2017, Srbić became the world champion in Montreal. Srbić has also won the fourth silver medal in the European Championships for Croatia after Filip Ude won in 2008 in Lausanne, Marijo Možnik in 2012 in Montpellier, and Robert Seligman in Glasgow last year. The only Croatian gold medal in the European Championships was won by Marijo Možnik in 2015, though the most significant achievement in the history of Croatian gymnastics is Tin's world gold from 2017.
