Arrive in Zagreb

Getting around Zagreb by Taxi

By 9 January 2017

Even though Zagreb used to be very expensive when it comes to taxi rides, the situation has improved greatly over the last few years because of the rise in competition. Taxi Cammeo, Eko Taxi, Zebra Taxi and Radio Taxi Zagreb are the main providers of taxi services.

The first three are slightly cheaper than Radio Taxi, but Radio Taxi will come to the destination right away, while you have to wait a couple of minutes for the other ones. Most of them charge 6 or 7kn per kilometer (around €1), but the start prices vary. Pay attention to signs on taxis and make sure you get one by the previously mentioned companies because other taxi companies do exist, but their prices are significantly higher. You can see how much a ride from your destination A to destination B would cost with each taxi service provider here.

Cammeo

Cammeo is one of the most popular taxi companies because they’re cheap, and there are many vehicles.

The prices are:

  • Start: 6 kn

  • Per km: 6 kn

  • An hour of waiting: 40 kn

You can get a taxi by dialing +385 (1) 1212 (landline: 1.25 kn/call, mobile phone: 2.50 kn/call). You can pay by card or in cash.

You can also download their app: for Android or for iOs.

That way ordering a taxi is free, and there’s a GPS location feature, which is very useful if you don’t know the exact address you’re at. You can also track your taxi and know exactly when it arrives to its location.

You can visit their website for more information.

Eko Taxi

Eko Taxi is the only green taxi company – the vehicles they used are hybrids.

The prices are:

  • Start: 8.80 kn

  • Per km: 6 kn

  • An hour of waiting: 43 kn

Dial 1414 or +385 060 77 77 to get a taxi (landline: 1.25 kn/call, mobile phone: 1.24 kn/call). You can also order a taxi via this form. You can pay by card or in cash. You can also download an app, both for Android and for iOs.

There are few other convenient services that Eko Taxi has to offer. You have to order a taxi 60 min before you wish to leave if you want to use them. The services are: transportation of children in car seats (1 seat per car), transportation of pets, or non-stop taxi service (if you need a permanent and fixed transfer service). You can find out more on their website.

Radio taxi Zagreb

Radio Taxi might be the most convenient if you need your taxi right away.

The prices are:

  • Start: 10 kn

  • Per km: 6 kn

  • An hour of waiting: 40 kn

Dial 1717 to get a taxi (landline: 1.25 kn/call, mobile phone: 1.24 kn/call).

Download an Android app, or an iOs app. You can pay in cash. Radio Taxi also offers transport of pets (you have to call in advance), and a useful service if you’ve had too much to drink – one driver will pick you up, and another will drive your car to your destination. Find out more on their website.

Zebra Taxi

Zebra is one of the newest additions to the taxi scene of Zagreb, but with the lowest price per km and per call.

The prices are:

  • Start: 8.50 kn

  • Per km: 5.90 kn

You can order a taxi by dialing 072 900 900 (0.20 kn per call, both for landline and for mobile phones). You can pay in cash. Zebra Taxi doesn’t have any Andorid or iOs apps yet, but you can find out more on their website.
