Tortureum - Museum of Torture

By 7 February 2017

If you enjoy the dark side of history, this dark museum is the right place for you. You can see the guillotine, pendulum, gallows, rack, and one of the most famous exhibits – the iron maiden that were used to extract confessions from people in medieval times. A special emphasis is put on witch trials, which medieval Zagreb was notorious for. There’s also a dungeon where you can feel a fragment of chilly anticipation that people went through while awaiting their fate to be decided upon.
