A section of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts, Gliptoteka is a sculpture museum showing more than 13,000 Croatian sculptures from the 19th century to the present day. The museum is set in a former leather factory, which used to be the biggest industrial complex in Zagreb until 1926 when there was a fire, so a big part of the building burnt down, forcing the factory to shut down in 1938. The sculptures were moved here in the 1940s, and Gliptoteka became part of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts in 1950.
