Arrive in Zagreb

Uber

By 16 February 2017

Uber has been a huge hit since it started operating in Zagreb a little over a year ago, with over 100,000 downloads. Some users even prefer it to tram ride, because it’s faster, and in a lot of cases when you’re only traveling within the centre – cheaper as well.

This globally recognized transport company has been in Zagreb since October, 2015. Waiting time is approximately 4 min, which is also one of the lowest among taxi companies. The principle is simple: you create a profile here, download an Android or an iOs app, and then enter your location and the location you want to go to. The app uses your location and alerts the driver closest to you of your request, and sends you the driver’s picture and vehicle details (because Uber driver don’t have visible signs on their cars like other taxi drivers do). Don’t forget to rate your driver and your driving experience after your ride, because that way you take part in improving the service for everyone. Payment can be made by card, if you entered payment details when registering, or in cash, if you chose not to enter your credit card details when creating a user account. In addition to being the cheapest option on the taxi market, they’ve recently decreased their prices even further.

There are two options you can choose from when ordering an Uber ride, and the prices for the regular option, or UberX, are:

  • start: 6 kn

  • per km: 3 kn

  • per min: 0.4 kn

  • cancellation fee: 15 kn

  • minimum fare: 10 kn

If you want a more comfortable ride, you can choose the UberSELECT option. This option includes highest rated drivers and the top class cars, like VW Passat, Škoda Octavia, or Audi A4.

  • start: 6 kn

  • per km: 4 kn

  • per min: 0.6 kn

  • cancellation fee: 15 kn

  • minimum fare: 15 kn

  • airport fare: 120 kn (north of the Sava River, and 90 kn south of the Sava)

There are various additional perks, such as inviting friends to join Uber, which gets you a free ride when they join. Be sure to check the Uber newsroom and Uber on Facebook for the latest news and more information.

Uber also operates in Split, Dubrovnik and Zadar, and UberBOAT will start in Dalmatia for the summer of 2017.
