Opening of New Terminal at Zagreb Airport Brings Price Increase of Airport Services

By 12 December 2016

This is the second price increase of passenger fees at Zagreb airport since it was taken over in late 2013 by French companies.

In March of next year when the new terminal of the Zagreb Airport Franjo Tudjman will be operating, travelers will pay more expensive airport services, reports Poslovni.hr on 12 December 2016. Concessionaires at Pleso International Airport of Zagreb (MZLZ), led by French companies Bouygues and Aerports de Paris, have asked for and received approval from the Croatian Civil Aviation Agency (HACZ) to increase the cost of passenger charges. For a single international traveler, costs will be more expensive by two euros, amounting it to 17 euros per international passenger, while domestic passengers will, instead of 7, pay 7.5 euros.

This is the second price increase of passenger fees at Zagreb airport since it was taken over in late 2013 by the French companies. Just a few months after assuming control, they increased passenger charges for international passengers from 10 to 15 euros, while for domestic passengers charges increased from 4 to 7 euros. They then raised the fee for the protection of air transport, which is also paid by the traveler - from 3 to 6.5 euros. All of these fees are paid by passengers when they buy airline tickets which will therefore, for flights to Zagreb and from Zagreb, be more expensive than before after the opening of the new terminal.
