Zagreb ZOO is preparing a special family event on Easter Monday, April 17th 2017. Starting at 11 AM, young visitors can look forward to theatre plays, educational lectures, workshops and other fun activities related to Easter... and bunnies. There will probably be bunnies.
First on the schedule is a cooking lesson with a twist: kids will be preparing snacks and treats for the animals, which will then be distributed to zoo residents including lions, bears, lemurs, meerkats and chimpanzees. The workshop will be taking place from 11 AM to 1 PM.
A lecture titled "How do the animals see?" will be held in the educational center at 12 PM and again at 4 PM, while the Don Hihot theatre will stage two shows titled "Watch out, little bee!" and "Zecmen", starting at 3 PM and 4.30 PM respectively.
For those who prefer sports, there will be a short fitness class composed of age-appropriate basic exercises, and if you're particularly competitive, Kids Olympics will be taking place between 12 and 2 PM, supervised by Sport Educa Center staff. The competition will include enjoyable old-school disciplines like tug of war and a sack race. Parents might be tempted to join in as well.
Multiple activities will be taking place simultaneously and there's a lot to choose from – even if you decide not to participate in any of the workshops, you can roam around the zoo, take a photo with a mascot and get your face painted any time between 11 AM and 6 PM.
