Hidden Film Screenings at Secret Locations Around Zagreb

The first rule of hidden screenings: you do not talk about hidden screenings. The second rule of hidden screenings: you do not talk about hidden screenings.

Following a simple philosophy: “If we can’t go to the Hill yet, the Hill can come to us,” a game of hide-and-seek with some of the best films out there will take place in Zagreb, June 24 – July 13. The secret screenings will be an introduction to Motovun Film Festival, a five-day film festival, taking place annually in Motovun, Istria. It was originally meant to be a small festival, but the superb location on top of a hill in Istria now attracts more than 40,000 visitors. Screenings take place in two indoor and two outdoor theatres, daily and continuously, from 10 a.m. to the next daybreak, so it really is a 24 hours a day festival.

Five ultimate classics, remembered for providing various generations of viewers with an unforgettable experience, await those who can keep a secret at secret locations, connected to the film’s plot.

By subscribing to Motovun Film Festival’s newsletter here you can become part of a secret society and confidential information on the location of each film will be sent to your inbox 24 hours before the screening. Secret locations include former convents, industrial zones, and green spaces – places where you probably won’t get another chance to watch a film at.

Warm-up starts with Fight Club screening at Lauba, the only location you will know from the beginning. The schedule is as follows:

June 24 – Lauba, warm-up for Fight Club (David Fincher)
June 27 – Dead Poets Society (Peter Wier)
July 4 – Animals Are Beautiful People (Jamie Uys)
July 11 - Night on Earth (Jim Jarmusch)
July 13 - One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (Milos Forman)
