Zagreb Film Festival at Tuškanac Summer Stage

Everyone's favourite open-air cinema will be hosting Zagreb Film Festival July 17 - 23

While we're anxiously waiting for the Festival's main event that will take place November 11 – 19, Tuškanac Summer Stage is hosting Zagreb Film Festival July 17 – 23.
The audience will be able to watch the following films in the magical setting of Tuškanac forest at Dubravkin put:

Monday, July 17: Together Project (2016)
Samir, a forty-year-old crane operator in Montreuil, on the outskirts of Paris, falls madly in love with Agathe. As she is a swimming coach at the local pool, he decides to take lessons with her, even though he is a perfect swimmer. His ploy to get closer to her only lasts three lessons - Agathe hates liars! Selected to represent the Seine-Saint-Denis region at the 10th International Congress of Swimming Coaches, Agathe flies off to Iceland. Smitten, Samir has no other choice than to follow her.


Tuesday, July 18: My Life as a Courgette (2016)
Director Claude Barras uses gorgeous stop-motion animation to tackle the difficult subject matter in this delicately told story about a young boy sent to a group home after the death of his alcoholic mother, who finds comfort, acceptance and hope with his equally troubled new companions.


Wednesday, July 19: Home Care (2015)
Feature film debut of writer and director Slavek Horak deals with the most important questions of life in a light, entertaining way - but at the same time speaks honestly about the finality of human existence and how to deal with it.


Thursday, July 20: The New Kid (2015)
Benoit is the new kid at a junior high school. His first week turns out not the way he'd hoped.
He's bullied by a gang of arrogant popular boys, led by Charles, who make things difficult for him, and the only students who treat him with any kindness are the "losers."
Fortunately, there's Johanna, a pretty Swedish girl, with whom Benoit forms a friendship. But just when he falls under her spell, she joins Charles' gang.


Friday, July 21: After Love (2017)
After 15 years of marriage, a couple with two kids is about to divorce. Until the husband finds a new place to live, they have to cohabit and figure out how to share their belongings. 


Saturday, July 22: The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Mäki (2016)
Everything is set for Olli Mäki to become the first ever Finn to be the world champion in feather weight boxing. His manager Elis Ask – a former boxer himself has prepared everything for them to reach fame and fortune. All Olli has to do is lose weight and concentrate. But he has a problem – he has fallen in love with Raija. 


Sunday, July 23: Neruda (2016)
Beloved poet Pablo Neruda is also the most famous communist in post-WWII Chile. When the political tides shift, he is forced underground, with a perseverant police inspector hot on his trail. Meanwhile, in Europe, the legend of the poet hounded by the policeman grows, and artists led by Pablo Picasso clamour for Neruda’s freedom. 


All films start at 9:30 p.m. and tickets can be bought at Kino Europa (Varšavska 3) and Tuškanac Summer Stage (Dubravkin put bb), an hour before the screening.
